DP in Pearl?
-
I am not a pearl breeder, so to say, but it has cropped up in my lines. Am very curios about this girl's color, because she looks different than the others. There is a 1/8 chance that she has dp(great grand dad what het, and horses in between are colors that wouldn't show it) on the other hand, would be surprised if she is a color that would show it either. Just really intrigued about if anyone knows what is making her that dark almost metallic color.

Is this a difference between him pearl and pearl cream? -
The difference is the cream. Cream and pearl look very different than hom pearl on black based horses.ID: 16853Thanked by 1Wildland Acres

I have a few DP pearls, I'll dig up links in a bit. But yeah, the difference is the cream. The pearl-creams look more like double creams (Smokey cream, perlino) than pearls.#28036

Thanks! Just looked through pics again and wonder why she was different. :)

DP G3 Pearl of Peace
This one is liver chestnut pearl. She's hom DP, but only has one sooty gene.
DP G3 How Do You Love
This one is chocolate palomino pearl. -
The dun is lightening them up more than they would be without it.
