Stallion

My stallion Dark Pearl today has conistantly produced gelded colts and spayed mares. Is this an indication its time to geld him?

He has good number of intact mares as offspring. Maybe he's just not good at producing sons? He's rates A and for a second gen I would say that's pretty good. Sometime's it is the mares you choose to put them with. I was told, to breed the same type-- if that makes sense? In order to raise the chances of intact offspring... maybe that's the deal?

No.... it's an indication of a difference in quality between your stallion and your mares. Since your stallion is sired by a "B" foundation, and I'm willing to bet almost all of your mares are by "C" stallions, it's not surprising.
What will happen is that he will definitely sort the wheat from the chaff in your mares... the ones who can produce intact offspring with him (likely a very high B) are your superior mares. -
You might try putting your 2nd gen mares in a pasture and letting them accrue a pasture bonus... you'll get more intact babies that way.
-
I'd wager that if you performance tested the offspring, you'd find that his get had a higher PT than your other 2nd gen stallions, too. Are you selling those altered babies? Because they'd probably make very good show horses.

I have one colt i kept, hes gelded thoughLife is Special live it to your fullest

I have an intact colt from him and 2 geldings. Both geldings look like excellent performers, the colt is going to be super valuable in my Grullo line and will show once he's 2. Baya if you're frustrated with him, I'd buy him in a heartbeat. You can pretty much name your price for him.

If i were to sell him he would be over 150k as he is only one of a few A papered 2nd gen stallionsLife is Special live it to your fullest

He'd be worth every HB. Just keep it in mind. I really would buy him in a fingersnap.
