General Information and a Reminder - Fantasy Genes
-
Fantasy genes have varying limitations on who can own INTACT horses. Most of the Fantasy Genes are only available via real life cash money, so if you didn't fork over the cash, you are not allowed to own the gene!
Allowing any member to own neutered horses with fantasy genes is a relatively new occurance.
Also, if you DO own INTACT horses, you will be invited to join the CLOSED chat room for that gene. Ammit will add you. If you think you have missed an invitation, just ask!
Ok, Fantasy gene owners! Here's where I need your help! I don't own any fantasy genes anymore, so I need you all to help me make a list!
Name some fantasy genes (not GP or KP, etc) and the restrictions on each. Also help me out, if you have any other advice on how to help new(er) players learn how fantasy genes work! -
SpM, otherwise known as Macchiato!
Macchiato is a splash gene, on the same place as the usual splash and splash 3. It not only causes spots of white to appear, but also lightens up the coat a bit around those spots. It is safe with any gene.
Must have bought a foundation with RL cash to own intacts.
Only need one copy to show.
An example, on a liver:
The Ravens NestProducer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable. -
Watercolor, plaid, and ThunderStruck are closed genes that you must have paid real money and own each gene to own any intact horses of that gene. Altered horses can be purchased by anyone. All only need one gene to express.

Nexus: a Limited gene, not a restricted one. This was introduced before Ammit ever added the Restricted system, and in fact brought that system into play because players shared too much and devalued the gene by breeding trash foals to sell for quick cash. This gene will never be sold again.
This gene expresses differently when heterozygous or homozygous. When only one allele is present, it is characterized by star-or-galaxy-like white dots in varying size all over a horses coat. When the horse has two alleles, their coat will be digitally inverted. Axiom was added later and is in the same family, although it acts differently when homozygous.
Single copy on black:
500036 NX
Double copies--Chestnut, and then Chestnut with many diluting genes:
Hawkeyes Regatta XX3

Axium is in the Nexus complex and is a closed gene. It comes in three basic colors--Red, Green, Blue. Heterozygous Axium horses have a star-field effect on their coats, regardless of the color of Axiom they possess and look like Heterozygous Nexus horses. Red + Green = Yellow; Green + Blue = Cyan; Red + Blue = Magenta.
You must own or have purchased a foundation with a color to breed with a horse with that color.

With Axiom you can only buy one color at a time. If you want all three colors you have to have each color put on 3 different horses and pay separetly for each color.
You cannot breed a red Axiom to a blue Axiom if you do not own a blue Axiom. You can only breed red to red if you only own red. You CAN breed to somebody elses red Axiom, though.
Are there 3 different chat rooms/clubs for the 3 different colors?

Axiom: A Restricted gene which came about because the GameMaker saw a similar gene be devalued to a terrible level. Axiom was introduced to bring in a new gene developed to be similar which would keep its value and to test the new restriction system.
Axiom can be present at the same time as Nexus, though they will not combine, but will express like only one allele of either is present. The horse will express their other color genes normally, and will have star-like dots spread across.
Axiom comes in three different alleles, which can be mixed and matched for six different colors total. The three alleles are Red, Green, and Blue (Nr, Ng, Nb). When homozygous with a matching allele (Blue and Blue) the horse's coat will be black with blue-tinted stars or far-away galaxies. When the horse has one allele of one color and and allele of another color, say Blue and Red, the horse's coat will be black with Magenta stars. The three secondary colors of Axiom are Magenta (Red/Blue), Cyan (Green/Blue), and Yellow (Green/Red).
Effects from Axiom are inversion of coat markings and in some cases Nebulas. Although all coats will be basically black, markings like Appaloosa spots will be inverted. This is different from Nexus, where an entire coat would be inverted, including the stars. Axiom's stars are intact and tinted, as mentioned before. Nebulas are areas of the coat that take a color either according to the star color or according to the coat color. This needs collaboration from someone willing to track the info down in the forums.
Examples---First, a single allele of Axiom, and then Axiom with Nexus:

RoseFlute - Does the Nexus combined with the Axiom count as an Axiom horse? You still have to be in the club to own an intact horse?
-
Absolutely! Any allele of a restricted gene on an intact horse makes the horse unsellable to unlicensed players.
-
And you have to be a member of the chat room to be considered Licensed?
-
Yes, I think that's actually how the game knows to flag things.
