I'm going to do another giveaway today. This one is open to all players, but players under the account age of 4 months will get 2 show horses, and all others will get 1.

The contest is: Something creative. Either writing a creative paragraph about (like a story), or a drawing of the show horse that you would like to acquire.

I don't think I explained this very well, but if you have any questions let me know.

You said something creative so i guess i'll do a poem

King of the wild
Wild horses gallop through my dreams
Their leader a beautiful blue and silver stallion
Beautiful mares with cute foals at foot
But......
The stallion he is king
King of the wild
His father the silver stallion a legend told round the campfire
Even bows to the magnificent night stallion
The ghost stallion they call him
When they gallop through my dreams the stallion he stops & rears
Calling a challenge to those who dare challenge him
The mightiest stallion of all
Then vanishes into the night like the ghost he is
When I wake up there he is in my mind calling his eriee call

Here's a poem that I wrote many years ago when I was in high school. It was inspired by my first mini and all of the attention that we drew when we would go on our walks throughout the neighborhood.

We're Not Ponies

"Mommy,
Pony! Pony!"
Center of attention are we.
We are horses in mini,
We're not ponies.

Ponies are taller,
But we are a bit smaller,
We may posess the same devilish gleam,
But we're not viscious or mean.
We're not ponies.

Our hooves are smaller,
Our hearts are bigger,
Our neighs ring loud,
And boy do we draw a crowd!
But we're still not ponies.

Cars stopping,
Kids start flocking,
We hear their cries,
"Can we pet the pony?"
Yes! but we're not ponies.

Back to the barn,
We never run,
Sad to depart,
We'll be back, so never lose heart,
Cause, Minis are we!

Glad to see this has sparked some interest for you HUSG! Transferring this from over in your brainstorming thread:

For example, Here's a scribble of one of your showmares. Her name struck me and I felt like doodling. Perhaps others could be similarly inspired.

My scribblehorse is also unimpressed with her color.I used the name HUSG gave her to "influence" the sketch. Scrolling through her other horses names I see doodle-potential. For example, I could go off on a tangent and draw a loaf of bread with blue ribbon for "Bread Winner"

Edit:no self control. Not an entry though.

Welp, here goes with the story!
"The Afterthought"

The halter wasn't new to the old gelding, but he hadn't felt the crown piece slide behind his ears or heard the halter buckle jiggled into place in a long time. Once his coat had been dark and his legs strong. Now his knees bowed forward under the weight of his cold bones and his coat was fringed with frost. When he could jump the moon, he had gloried in stardom. Now he was an afterthought. But for the first time in a long time, tiny hands caressed his coat and a young boy pulled coaxingly on his halter. Slowly, ponderously, the old gelding stepped forward, back into the spotlight.

I was coloring with my son a few days ago and sketched a horse for you! It just took me a little while to get it from paper to internet.

I’m on a trip and we have 12 hours of driving planning today, so if I can I’ll try to put the horses up with my phone, otherwise I’ll have to wait for next time there’s internet.

I have a photo of an unfinished sketch I did in Art class in high school in 1990 of a unicorn. I don't know how to upload it though. I clicked the photo icon but all I get is this text:

I guess I am not tech savvy enough for this contest lol and forget about getting any poetry out of me. I chose it because unicorns would be a great next level fantasy genes option for the game, and because it represents all the hours I spent drawing as a little girl and fantasizing about them (and I'm glad to have saved it for so many years). If someone can give me an "Upload Photo for Dummies Tutorial" I'd appreciate it!

Duelinghawks, you have to have the image hosted somewhere and then use the link, you can't upload it to the HJ2 site.

A site like Photobucket would let you host an image for free (but it's kind of a pain).

If you want help posting an image once you have it hosted somewhere, let me know and I can post more specific instructions.

This isn't an entry to the contest. I have more than enough horses as it is, but I want to share one of my favorite horse-based works of art. I made it back in 2007. It's a composite photo called "Escape on a Horse of a Different Color."

I was competing in my first big-kids 3 day with my enormous nitwit Thoroughbred gelding. He could jump the moon and never once refused a fence. (Or a picnic table. Or a Volkswagen Beetle.)
The cross country course was on a gorgeous bit of property. We came around a grove of trees and there was nobody in sight. Just me and my pal, galloping to the next fence. Time was so, so important, but time stopped just then. The sense of power, feeling him surge across the ground, knowing I could flex a muscle and he would respond, feeling his muscles working, is forever burnt into my memory.

Good old Bishop. Rest easy, big guy.

Since the link to the stable for horse options is currently nonfunctional, I shall write instead a short poetic piece about a generic horse and see where this gets me:

His heart beats steady, a perfect metronome on which his entire life is based.
A surefooted gait that never falters, the drumbeat of hooves a syncopation against the established tempo.
Soft nickers the melody.
Piercing whinnies the counterpoint.
The wind whipping through ebony mane and long, flowing tail, a cadenza to this art, uncontrolled and freely moving to its own time.
But it is the soul of the beast that makes him who he is, the director to this grand symphony that is his passing years.
Poetry in motion?
Nay.
The song of life incarnate.
