Gulastra Plume
  • Probably I should post this topic in the Genetics category, but what is Gulastra Plume? Why it's so special?

  • Gulastra Plume is a hidden gene (meaning it is not included in the Genetics Test) based on a hypothetical real life gene that showed up in descendants of an Arabian stallion named Gulastra. On Bay based horses it shows up as white extending up from the bottom of the tails. The gene must be homozyous for the full effect to show up. If it is heterozygous, it can be seen on buckskin horses (that don't have dominant champagne) as a slight lightening of the tail and some lighter patches in the mane.

Ammit introduced it as a mystery gene present in the 2,000,000th horse on HaJ 1 and all GP horses in that game are descended from her. It was quite a contest Ammit ran at that time, challenging us to figure out what the mystery gene would turn out to be.

Here's a bay horse with homozygous GP that shows the effect of the gene very well.
