Hello,
Is it beneficial to continue showing a horse after it is leveled off? Or once it levels off does it just drag down the points? -
A horse never loses the points it has gained. Its show score may fluctuate a bit, unless it's perfectly consistent. As long as it is not placing last in its classes, you will benefit by showing it because it will continue to increase its point total. Leveled off horses that are placing anywhere above the very bottom of their classes are your best cash cows. (Excuse me, best cash cayuses. :D)
Leveling off just means that the horse will no longer be adding more than tiny fractions of a point with training. If it was poised to level up one more time, it might just make it after several weeks or months have gone by.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

The number of total TRAINING points (measured by the horses PT score) will change a teensy bit, but the balance of TOTAL points won won't decrease. They still earn a few tenths of a percent of training points once they level off, just nowhere near what they used to earn.
If the horse has a decent balance of total show points you could, theoretically, toss it in a pasture and let it sit, and never show, and you could still get the showing bonus for the points it has.
You also need to see if it has leveled off in a decent spot. If it is in the bottom placings of a class it will take FOREVER to earn enough points to pull it out of that spot. On the other hand, if it is in the TOP palacings in the class it will continue to win the points associated with that placing. -
The number of total TRAINING points (measured by the horses PT score)
Pt score measures training ability. Nothing to do with points.
