I'm seeking mares carrying/expressing the Satin gene - preference given to Paints or Appaloosas with a lot of white/chrome.

Satin has to be GMT onto a horse. So you prob won't find a foundation for sale.

She's the only one I've found so far that I'd be willing to sell. She's only a het satin.

Stella do you own Macchiato? What gen/ paper level are you looking for?

I'm actually not positive if I have any Macchiato...I have several Splash horses but I don't believe I have Mach because it's closed and I'm a brand new player.

Which sort of answers the second question - at this point I'm not being very picky about gens or paper levels because I'm just trying to establish the genetics first. I have been testing my own horses for everything, but I just lost 3 foals (a B papered Colt and 2 Red papered fillies, one of which carried Satin and 2 with a 10+ PT score) to breeding advice :'(

Ok. My Satin stallion is Macchiato, so I can’t really help you because it of course is a closed gene. However, they do come up for sale or auction here and there. Do you understand how to use the search to look for them?

I have played with the search a little bit, but I can't say I'm positive how to search for that exact gene...

So if you’re on the search page, you want to click For Sale or For Auction to search those horses. Then click so only Mares are checked.

Then you will see there are 3 tabs about the middle of the Search section, Key Filters, Base Colors and Patterns. Click Base Colors and you will see all the Base color non-pattern genes come up. Satin is in the bottom right. Click the “sa” drop down box to “Must Have” and then hit search! I would definitely do that all auction days and you might get lucky!
