How do you breed a hom kp foal!? I got a bunch of kp straws as SS presents but I've never bred kp before

Well, kp needs to be homozygous for both kp and for kit genes to show. Doesn't matter what kit genes. So as long as you have a mare that has both, your foal will get both too.

I think of KP as being like DP, but it needs the kit gene part.

I've used a few already and the first foal is him w20 but doesn't show kp

They have to be homozygous for kp as well. If you breed those hom straws to a het kp mare, there's a 50/50 chance of the foal being kp themselves. If the mum does not have kp at all, then they won't show up as kp. Ever.

I would use the hom kp straws on mares that have two kit genes, and then you'll have a bunch of foals you know are het kp. You could then breed those foals together, and see if you can get some more het kp girls to add in if you don't get many. You should be able to get some hom kp foals from these foals.

Ooooooooh ok lol yea I don't have any kp mares, so I'll probably breed these foals together when they're old enough and see what happens, thanks everyone! :D

I have plenty of KP mares. Let me know if you what generation you would like and I can send over an egg or put a couple up for breeding in my buddy chat. :)

@Ritsika Do you happen to have a 3g mare I could breed to? I bought a 3g kp stud, but I currently don't have any 3g kp mares to breed him to!

And looking back at my comment, I can only laugh at the confusing "Let me know if you what generation you". Whoa there Ritsika, try reading aloud, haha. That's why I try not to stay up too late. :))
