DP Grays

Does anyone know how DP affects gray and/or vice versa? Have a gray stud and at least one DP mare so just wondering if anyone has more experience than I do. Thanks!

Bumping this because I'm curious as well. :)ISO any and all Silver Pocket Watches!
God grant me the hbs to buy the ponies I need,
The fortitude to resist the shiny ones I truly don't,
And the wisdom to know there will always be more next time. -
The gray works the same as it does on other coats, where it'll cover up and eventually white out entirely the base coat. The liver will still be underneath and will still show like any other coat shows under gray.

If the foal has a lot of its base color when it's born you can usually see that they are dp (as long as they have red for the dp to interact with)
Over time though it just fades like a regular gray would.
I've been breeding dp for 3 years so I've seen a couple gray dps ;;)
It's actually pretty cool. I've got a great Friday stud and ill see if I can get him to toss a gray kid so I can show you----
Barn ID 4953 -
Gray makes horses darker before they go white so it is basically impossible to spot DP with any accuracy.
