  • Omigosh, he's adorable.
  • Why thank you! :) He's a keeper!
  • Texas Tea means the pattern, right? Do you have to breed to another Texas Tea for it to pass on? Thanks
  • Texas Tea refers to the Rank Special: Texas Tea Herd Helper that was used to create him. The mare doesn't HAVE to be Texas Tea to produce foals that look similar to him. Any chestnut splash mare will give you a good chance of getting another chestnut splash frame foal. However, not very many of his foals will inherit the brindle. Brindle is not a very "heritable" characteristic. So a brindle horse might have hundreds of foals and only a handful or none at all will be brindle.

Also brindle is caused by a mutation, so you can get a brindle horse from non-brindle parents. I do believe there is a very small chance in the game of that occurring.

  • Thank you an eloquent and easily understandable answer packed with information, I appreciate the time you have taken to type it out for me.

I don't really understand what Rank: Special means, I got the ones that Ammit gave out for Autumn but have only been playing a little over a month, just missed the Texas Tea give away. For example, what is so 'special' about the Texas Tea or Out With A Bang?
  • "Rank: Special" is part of the Daily Herd Helper feature that includes a number of unique combinations of color and pattern that Ammit has designed. Because of the intentional selection of color and pattern, they appear rarely in the random mix that assigns them each day at roll-over. People who can afford it will sometimes reroll their herd helper until one of the Rank Specials shows up. In addition to their color and pattern, all Rank Special herd helpers are perfect foundations. I've been keeping a list of them.

    Bring Back the Sun:
Ammit: "Everyone I need your help! Super villains in New Zealand and South Africa have teamed up to hold the sun hostage. NOOOO! Unless we do something there will be no spring for us Northerners. There is a way to get her back though. We need to use the power of giving and PONIES! " Though the days may be cold the night has not won, for tonight is the night that we bring back the sun. All horses will be exceptionally perfect black brindles, but may also have additional rare genes.

    Catch A Blue Moon:
The stars are just peaking out from behind great streaks of gossamer clouds. They stand guard like sentimental watching over the snow capped mountains. Watch them long enough and you might just catch a glimpse of the blue moon. All horse will be White 2 Blue Roan Homozygous Splash Frame Appaloosas. They may also have additional rare genes.

    Heart of the Holiday:
No matter your traditions or the distances involved. Love is at the heart of the holidays. Love the most gilded and wondrous of all things. All horses will be of a gilded hue, homozygous for silver and at least heterozygous for tobiano. All horses will be exceptionally perfect.

    Out With A Bang:
May your year go out with a bang, and your new year be filled with light. All horses will be Silver Sable Champagne Frame exceptional producers and may also have additional rare genes

    Silver Pocket Watch:
All things come and go but this silver pocket watch, it has endured. It comments on the slow trickle of time with a simple mantra. Tick, Tick, Tick. All horses will be true breeding Silver Black Splash. They are homozygous for black, silver and splash but may also have other rare genes

    Vault of Stars:
Look to the night sky and see its vast vault of stars. All horses will be black with tobiano, white, splash, appaloosa and frame genes. They may also have additional rare genes.

    White Wedding:
A special herd helper to celebrate the wedding of Ammit and Haystack. White Wedding horses will be White Blue Roan Rabicano Brindles but may also have other rare genes. Something Old: White Wedding was a stallion owned by Ammit many game years ago, Something New: the rabicano gene which was not available at that time, Something Borrowed: The HH system to celebrate our wedding, and Something Blue: His blue roan coat.

    Sparkling Cider:
Sweet and cloying, full of glittering bubbles. A tradition each year and memories made. All horses will be White Silver Bay/Brown Splash, but may have additional rare genes. All horses will be exceptional producers.

    Texas Tea:
A sweet warm wind perfumed with the sent of yellow roses, a porch swing and a mason jar filled with Texas Tea. It is not just summer, it is home. All horses will have the splash and frame gene, but may also have other rare genes as well. All horses will be brindle.

    Stars & Stripes:
Stars and Stripes Forever Crash, bang, boom. No mater the fight, these colors don't run. May they fly the Stars and Stripes Forever. All horses will be White Bay Brindle Splash Tobiano Appaloosas, but may also have additional rare genes.

    Red, White, & Blue Roan:
Standing tall no matter the odds. All horses will be either Red or Blue Roan with White 2, but may also have additional rare genes. All horses will be exceptional producers.

    Shades of Pale:
What seems like plain shades of gray, may reveal secrets beyond the pale. Named for the famous stallion of the past Lighter Shade Of Pale. All horses will be heterozygous for all genes.

    All Washed Up:
I might look like I am all washed up on the outside, but inside I still have the heart of a champion. All horses will be homozygous for Cream, Dun, Silver, and Champagne, but may be any base color. All horses will be exceptional producers.

    Champagne Fizzy
It's like tasting stars! All horses will be a sparking intoxication of clear Gold Champagne Creams with fizzy bubbles from the white gene. Refreshing!

Color With A Really Long Name
All horses will have a color with a foolishly long name. They will be at least heterozygous for dun, roan, silver, champagne, varnish, appaloosa, tobiano, splash, frame, and rabicano. They may be also be homozygous for any gene.

    Brindle Breakout
All horses created with this special Herd Helper are guaranteed to be brindle! All base colors are possible and horses might also have other patterns.

    Storm Warning
There is a storm coming. A brooding darkness that threatens to swallow you. It surges and crashes, and seems to break the world a part. But in the heart of it all, there is a seed of light. And this light is the love of good friends. The beacon that will lead us from the night. All horses will be true breeding Silver Classic Champagne Dun Splash Frame and be exceptionally perfect creates

    Conversation Hearts
Pretty in Pink. Be mine. You are exceptional.

    Autumn's Arrival
When the days are getting shorter, and the nights darker, a mystic mixture of mist, frost and first snow veils the scenery. All horses will be homozygous for sabino-1.

  • You truly are a font of information. I learned some stuff in that post :)
  • Perhaps I ought to clarify that the Rank Specials first appeared in HaJ 1, where exceptional producers can be found. When the Rank Specials that are described as Exceptionally Perfect appear in this game, they are, like all the others, Perfect Foundations.

  • SandyCreek do you have the Info/Meaning for' Fuel To The Fire?' I can't find that one. And I have an excellent mare that produces a high percentage of liver chestnuts. I'd like to add the meaning to her horse page.
  • @PaintsStables: I missed picking up the description of that one when Ammit released it. Fortunately, another HaJ 1 player included it in the notes of one.

Rank Special: Fuel To The Fire
A bright new year from the ashes of the old. Stoke those flames and add fuel to the fire. We have such great things that need doing! All horses will be dark chestnut with sabino 1 and white 2.

@Rose Ridge Farm: Sorry for the hi-jacking of your thread. I will breed a few more mares to your lovely stallion in payment. *G*

  • I don't mind. It keeps my ad towards the top. ;)
Hope you are pleased with your new foals!
  • @ Rose Ridge, I got a nice chestnut colt from your Troubadour. I got lucky, I just noticed the mare I picked, was his sister, and so a frame also.

@ Sandy Creek, Really liking the pattern you got on Shining Singer from Rose Ridge's Troubadour also. Very unique!
  • Shining Singer got splash and frame from her sire and white 2 from her dam. I agree, she's quite stunning. I heaved a sad sigh when she was neutered for inconsistency, but I DO need more show horses.

  • I hear you, I was just going through my show horses, and adding some more geldings. I still need to do the spaying yet.
  • Rose Ridge I got three beautiful foals from your boy, two fillies and a colt that all passed their testing. The colt papered B and he's a gorgeous bay splash. I also got a palomino and silver bay dun splash.
