Placing Auction Bids?

I search horses for ones that are in auction, and when I find one I want to bid on I click on it. It says I am not the highest bidder. I can see the drop down box to place a higher bid, but I can’t see the “Place Bid” button... anyone know why?Home of the Valley Warmbloods.
