Should I sell him?
-
I have a 7 yr. old Gelding with a 9.9 Pt score, but has only 33 pts. He is lagging behind even my 3 and 4 yr olds. Should I sell him and replace him with a better show horse?
-
I Would.

The auction is an excellent place to pick up a replacement. :)

Thank You!

I keep and show anything. He's still making you a small amount of money. I used to auction all of my show stock when I first started but now that I keep them all, i'm up to almost 60k in daily show bonus :) Give him time to rack up the points. He may not be as good as others but if you keep culling based on that logic then you'll end up with no horses! :D

I definitely would sell and replace! Your barn is smaller, and a great horse in each stall really matters. As Skylight said, you can pick up a much better replacement at auction. It's not a wise financial decision to keep such a poor shower when there are SO many better options getting yummed by the auction house.
I am happy to send you a few established show horses if you would like : )Looking for Appaloosas? Check out my Riata account.
