Quick Question about White Factor
-
So I'm looking through my horses to start organizing them for pasture breeding, and I'm having a hard time still understanding White Factor.
Do the different levels of WF matter in breeding, or is it just KIT lethality that I have to worry about? -
WF affects how much white a horse will have. This doesn't matter if a horse has no kit genes, however in crosses where you have the probability of a lethal cross, WF does matter. It's sort of inherited and some genes can increase it (splash and frame do I think).
So if you're doing a risky kit cross, a low WF with no splash or frame in either parents could result in a success rather than a dead foal.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
