Lethal white?
-
I bought a draft stud recently and I've been breeding him quite a bit. He's been great.
But I just got two foals who died having that lethal white message, one from a very colorful mare and one from a mare who was plain chestnut with no white. (My first deaths like that in the game.)
Here's the boy:
WO2 1130863
Is it his W2 that puts his foals at risk? What factors control this exactly?
Physically he does have a lot of white.
Should I search for a different stud? -
Can you post the mares in question?
Both the frame and the w2 can cause lethal foals. No you should not find a different stud if you like him and been using him. It's not really a big deal if some foals die. If you post the mares though we can help you figure out why they died.

If it was this girl who was "the plain chestnut" who lost the foal - I think she may be hiding some white.

If i were you I would splash out on color testing all your breeding mares so you know if they have frame or white and then check the white factor graph. If you need further help just post :)
Frame can sometimes hardly show. -
He's a lovely stallion by the way! :)

@Ammit @Dinascar
These are the two mares I was talking about (Dinascar, yes, the one you put up was one!):

I ran them all through color testing just now also, I hadn't realized I missed a few.Thanked by 1Dinascar -
The first one has frame if your foal got frame from both parents it will die.
Both mares also have white 20. That gene is low risk, but your boy's white 2 is high risk. If your foal got white 20 and white 2 it could die if it had the wrong white factor. I lost a foal once and I think that's what happened.Thanked by 1Dinascar
