I'm looking for someone to tell me what would be involved/ if it's possible to turn this boy dark brown.

Adding one or two copies of At would technically make him brown.
-
This little guy is also a Freaky Friday that I’ve made bay carrying brown.
Lord Celeborn RS DDAZeO
If you mad your boy Het brown (At a) he would be darker than this, with a mostly black body and a deep dark mahogany brown belly. If you make him Hom brown (At At) he will be a little lighter than my boy and but still very dark.
If you want all of his offspring to be brown, you should make him Hom brown and also add an extra E. If you like the variety, I would leave him heterozygous at E so you can also get liver foals. -

What Cheers said. To me it seems At/a horses are darker than the At/At horses. The DP would make them even darker.
At/a with at least one DP:
2 Erie Storm GL
RC Fear Of Heights
ETA: the bottom is apparently buckskin -
This is my first time GMting (other than when I was really new & got a candy pony) so I want to be super sure.
To turn Little Spook brown I would get two a's then? That seems to be my only optionOwner Of Bellwether Farm

No. What you’re seeing in the list are the alleles he already has. Click one of those and at the top of the page it will give you buttons for all of your options to change that allele (Or will tell you that you can’t change it if it’s something you can’t change, like if you tried to put DP on him).
So in this case, pick one of the lowercase a buttons and click it. Up top it will give you the option to change that allele to A for 1 token, + for 2 tokens (wild bay) or t for 2 tokens (brown). You would pick t and then it will do its thing and show you his new color. If you want to make him Hom Brown, you then go down and pick the other a allele (his choices will now read At and a or a and At depending on which one you clicked first) and change that one to t too. -
No, he already has two copies of recessive agouti. You want to change one of them to At.
That means, go to the Gene Mod lab, select Little Spook as the horse to work on. Note that you will need 2 GMTs to buy the At option. When the lab opens go down to the Agouti gene, select one of the a's. The page will reopen with all the options for altering that gene at the top. Select the Change a to At and click the button to activate the change. Since he is homozygous for both Sooty and DP, he should end up a nice rich brown.

(Just clicking an allele in his list of what he already has DOES NOT change anything. You have to then select your new allele up top, which is when you will get charged)

Woohoo! Another successful GMT transformation!
I know it can be super overwhelming and confusing the first time you open the lab to make a change. And the second and the third. After a while you’ll get used to it, and then you’ll be walking those visiting the Dark Side for the first time through the ins and outs! -
Not bad when you get your dream second gen colt too! Sabino is the only thing I would add to Spook and now his son has it.
