I suggest reading the FAQ carefully. It's a good basic overview of the game, but may still leave you with questions. We're always glad to help new players, so please don't hesitate to ask about anything that doesn't seem clear. Specific questions are easier to answer than broad general ones, but it's okay to ask about more than one thing in a post. The link for the FAQ is near the bottom of the left menu.

It's probably easiest to start with a few horses to get used to the mechanics of the game. While you're playing with them, you can look around the forum or use the Search Horses tool under Community to see some of what is available in this game.

The variety of sizes and types of horses and the colors and patterns available is immense. Many players end up concentrating on a specific size--draft/cob, warmblood/sport pony, Riding Horse/pony. Some like to breed for specific color and pattern combinations--Black White 2 Splash, for example. Other players play with a lot of colors and sizes.

There is no one correct way to play the game. We choose our own goals and try to reach them. This makes for a friendly and helpful community. We play against the variety of results possible for almost every part of the game, no each other. :D
