I haven't done much breeding yet, but this perlino filly stands out--she's got the highest PT of the bunch, but there's lots more breeding to do around here.

Very pretty baya. I love their sire's name. Too Cute! =D>

This girly is possibly my most favorite in looks I've bred ever. I was so happy when she passed all her testing intact.

Another pretty one Silent Star, she looks like she got a little bit of almost everything. Plus, I love her Grandsire. He is my favorite stallion right now. :D
-
I've had time to do a little more breeding. Here are two intact fillies that got their sire's White 2 and Frame.

I like the W2 Frames. One of my favorite patterns. I am partial to Sooty Buckskins too.
-
Abby Road, or anyone else that has knowledge of GP. If you see this can you check this guy out for me? He is from a mare that is a daughter of Beilas and Antique. Do you think he is/has GP?

KerridansCorral I am so excited, I got a Liver Chestnut Sabino also. He is intact!

PaintsStables, yes he has 1 copy of GP. Typically GP only shows if homozygous on a bay based horse, but 1 copy shows up on buckskins as highlights in the mane and tail. FYI, there is a bug currently that makes buckskins with At not show their GP.
-
Yeah I'd say he's heterozygous, too. Love the way his pedigree looks with all the DP duns. :)
-
Still working my way through mine and I haven't done upper gens yet, but I thought this girl was really cool. Normally I try to avoid breeding Sb1 & Sb2 together because they often white out, but sometimes you get interesting patterns.

Abbey Road, she's truly gorgeous. I think that's one of the best Sb1/Sb2 combos I've ever seen.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Thanks Kaquel and Abbey Road. I love his pedigree also, it looks so pretty! I am still fuzzy on GP and DP, and I know you don't mind me asking when in doubt.
Absolutely Beautiful Abbey Road! And her base color is one of my favorites also. -
Ok, GP? I think I've missed that gene. I believe DP darkens without the presence of sooty (correct me if I'm wrong), but what is GP?
-
GP stands for Gulastra Plume. When homozygous on a bay based horse, it turns the tail a whitish color, like this boy:
http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=233182
When heterozygous on a buckskin, it creates blond highlights like above. Here's another example:
http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=214795
(You are correct about DP :) ) -
GP works with the Agouti gene, the gene that makes horses bay, so it only shows up on bay based horses. Non bays can be carriers though, I believe, but I'm not positive.
-
Yes, KerredansCorral, any horse can carry GP, but it will only show on bay based horses.
-
I'm bummed that this boy's GP is not showing up. :( It would be sooo striking on him.
http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=259708 -
Abbey Road, It sure would be.
-
It may show up when Ammit fixes that GP bug. As far as I know GP doesn't show on any At? horse right now.
-
I will have to watch for when the bug is fixed. See how many of my At's show GP after.
