Thanks much! I love her sire and dam a lot so I was hoping the outcome would be pretty but didn't expect it to be this pretty! :D

Mum must've bought down the dot size ;) Makes me wonder if non-appies do that...but I'm pretty sure I got a mega-dot from an appy/non-appy pairing lol.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

@ObsidianKitsune
Haha I tried the parents' genetics out in this "cheat" site and it looks like they were 50/50 split to have either a "black pintaloosa" (which is what I think this foal is?) and a blue roan appaloosa. So rad! No idea if the microdot was Floral's fault or not but you're probably right lol -
Well, we know that dot size is inheritable and there seems to be a general trend downwards in size. Every horse probably does carry the gene to determine the size of their spots, it just isn't always activated, because some don't HAVE the spots. In the case I mentioned above, about getting a megadot, the dad didn't have appy and when paired with appy females, he tended to increase the dot size a bit, or the size stayed the same.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts.
