How do you choose which colors you use for your tattoos? Most of my horses are dark based, but also may have lots of white from splash or W2. So I would need a color that will show up on all of them. Any suggestions?

I usually draw whatever then add a border of a brighter color around the drawing to help it pop out more. Like on this guy:

Of course if you intend to put the tattoo on lighter colored horses, I'd suggest using a dark color instead. Though most opaque tattoos have little trouble popping out on light colored horses.

Or out the tattoo in the corners rather than on the horse. Then it will always show up.

@Foxx That is true, though I'd like to place it on the hip if possible. The current color for one of the two is the flat/greyed out medium blue and the turquoise. I feel like those colors should show up well on any coat color.

I had this problem with one of my tattos. It was initially a silvery Chinese character, but after putting it on several of my horses and having it just fade into them, I asked the tattoo creator to add in the black. Here it is on several different horse colors so you can see how it looks on different combinations.

So here's what I came up with.

A violin bow as the naming pattern I use is the Stradivarius violins with a small stylized RFA.

RFA RS SQ The Lost Strad

A flat version of the current Doctor Who logo with the same stylized RFA.

RS The Fourth Doctor

Yea I have not seen the most recent one either I need to watch it :) I love your little guy the fourth doctor is awesome and Rose is my favorite companion I named my dog after her

Yes I agree!! :x I'm going to watch the other season after I'm done with Ghost Whisperer. Oh do you have Hulu? If so have you seen Shadow Hunters Mortal Instrument? It's really good if you like vampires and ware wolf's and monsters stuff like that..:)

@StarfireAcres I don't have Hulu but I've seen a few episodes. Not a big fan of the show but absolutely love the books! I'm currently rereading them! Haha
