What to do?

What to do when you've got no HB's and your home sick on the couch all day?
-
Chat to us! :)
-
Rearrange your barns? Tidy up those barns? Look at the search for all those lovely horses you could create next season? You'll have money tomorrow after auction! Work out how to spend that... :) Hope you are better soon. x
-
Yep! Well help you organize! I'm trying to sort 2G pastures today.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.
-
Organize, make lists, blingify ponies in the tack room, name any horses you haven't gotten around to and chat for sure!
-
Thanks, I just upgraded to Premium and tried out the SBA on a few of those extra colts that I was stock piling. Results were not as expected. The ones that I thought would pass didnt the ones that I thought were subpar to those did.... :O
-
Ooh, we wannna see!
We're there necessarily any that you wanted to stay intact?Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses. -
All who are named are keepers the ones without names goes to auction. Super easy to just go to the auction page and hit auction this one till I get down to the first named one.
-
SBA rocks! It is so good for getting rid of those misconceptions for you and making sure you only keep the good horses in your herd. Yes, it hurts sometimes but I wouldn't be without it!
-
I shouldnt have tested this one. :(( I was going to turn him to a girl and add the Kitm on that he missed. Three less GMTs to save up for now..

Passed
S Star Saber Spm2
LoL the one by the two RS parents fails but the one from a Top Notch Producer and regular create passes. -
Well the 2nd had one parent with an AFPT of 9.7, and the other 9.78. So those are close.
The first one had parents I'd like 10.5 AFPT, and I think it was 10.8. So to begin with there was a difference. And you never know maybe the parents threw all of their quality into the PT and not the breeding ability?Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses. -
How did this one pass??
MC Yell in the Wind t -
I think my RS stallion has a super low AFPT cuz I was breeding him to just any ole mare which I think drug his foal quality down.
-
I think it's because it's a comparison of the parents and not necessarily the quality of your entire herd. Hence comparison testing. On the last one the parents quality seemed about the same.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.
-
I sure will be saving a whole lot of HBs on testing. I usually just did the paper test after BA to see if they stayed or auctioned. Now just skip to SBA and only like 2 fillies pass lol. Course a ton of colts passed cuz I seem to produce super nice colts and subpar fillies.
-
Good news is I"m now down to only 38 G2 and G3 stallions. I think I had over 50.. I still have a few colts that I'm not ready to test yet.
-
Auction money is already spent lol. I am thinking it will be like 300,000. IV's, with some left over to obsessively push the create mares button. Then when I"m starting to get low I'll hit the breed now button to see how many stallions I can max out lol. I think I have 6 foundation stallions that have a few foals left. I kept maxing out stallions last season so I had to create a bunch of new ones.
-
Lol, me too.
But you'll be surprised how much auction fodder you get. Especially if you use SBA. Yesterday I got 2 intact fillies and 3 colts from over 70 foals. Now I admit a waiter to do SBA on the mares until afterwards as I was mainly doing it for auction money anyways, and they had no pasture bonus, but still. But I max out my brindle studs, so in theory I should eventually get a brindle.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses. -
In less I get super bored or super brave. I dont know that I will test the existing fillies. I have too much invested to have them become un-breedable. But all future fillies are definitely up for the trials. I now have plenty of Gen 2 mares.
My thoughts are to start a barn just for those that passed SBA. Just to see how their quality ranks against the BA only tested. -
Yea, me neither. Not until I get a lot of fillies. But now I finally have enough space to get a larger amount of numbers, all fillies will be SBA.
That would be a cool experiment!Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses. -
Perhaps SBA is what I need to sort all mine out. Not ready yet to go to Premium account (I am sure I will soon though). I have what I have without spending much real money apart from my pastures - can't be without them.
-
Was on the couch all day yesterday too so I sorted foundation barns based on colors lol.
I usually use the non- breeding days to decide on the mare to stallion pairings. -
I suspect if I did that I would need a lot more barns - I wish I could just stick to a couple of lines!
-
I did finally break down and buy another pasture too so thats all filled up with 2g and 3g mares that are 15 or younger. I have a lot of good mares that I got from Cheers that might not be around after roll over they range from 16-18. Figured it would be a waste of space to put them in the pasture if they arent going to be around for breeding season.
The main pasture is bigger so I put all my Dp and Stsy mares in there along with a few odds. I plan on putting my liver stallion, my SpM stallion, and maybe my Cremello appy. At first it was just going to be my Liver stallion but then I was like what the heck lets have some variety and surprises. -
I dont know how people stick to lines. I just mix them all in.
-
I saved one Yellow g2 stallion to breed to my yellow g2 mares but I may let him rest next season and see what happens when I breed the yellow's to the reds. Probably wont get any intact but thats okay the Yellow G2s are big point earners and their foals hit the auction anyhow.
-
Even the mares whose foals go to auction technically earn 83$ a day... 2500/30. I'm trying to decide what I want to do about the yellows at 2G. Not too long ago I was get rid of no matter what. But they keep seeming to come back. Current idea is to breed to my show line.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.
-
Well not quite that high since if you use the pasture thats 500 to create the foal. So would be 2000/30. :)
-
Yea, that's true. For some reason I thought when the pasture automatically bred on the 14th it didn't charge you 500$ per breeding. Learned that lesson this season.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.
-
Oh man thats rough when your not expecting it.
-
Yea, it was a 34,500$ hit. I thought that was the whole point of letting it automatically do it. Oops.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.
-
Ouch thats some big pastures. I think the auto breed is for those who rarely check on the game. I'm too obsessive and impatient about seeing what I get I've usually bred all of my keepers the first few days of the month lol.
-
Lol! I breed one pasture at a time so I'm not overwhelmed with a million foals to cull all at once. All the keeper lines, then the show pony lines and then my Appy dot size experiment pastures last because they make me rip my hair out the most.
-
Aww @Cheers how is that project working out?DivineDreams ~ 30908

I do one pasture at a time too. And this season I would supplement it with create mares for extra auction fodder. But I don't think that's what I want to do anymore. You never know when you will get a random nice one, and if its uneven your only option is show horse line.Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.
