Rank Stars
  • Do the colors in the rank stars have meaning? And does the higher the rank # mean better the horses?
  • I don't know if the colors have meaning, but the higher the number, the more rare the color/pattern. Rank 1 is the most common, and rank 6 is the least common :)
  • As far as I'm aware the colors don't mean anything, but I can honestly say I haven't paid attention to them.

The Rank Special stars tend to have a unique color/pattern for each different Rank Special, which are cool.

Ranks do not indicate better quality horses unless quality is specifically stated in the description. Perfect Foundations, Top Notch Producers, Exceptional Producer and Grat Show Horse herd helpers explicitly state these characteristics.

Most herd helpers are only color based and the quality of horses created from them spans the entire range of regular create foundations. The higher ranks indicate either genes that are more rare or combinations that are less common or both, while the lower ranks give you horses with quite common colors or patterns.

As a special note, Rank 6 is always a Rank Special. Rank Special horses are ALWAYS perfect foundation quality or better.
  • I think the colors just represent the "level" of rank. If what I've noticed is correct:
    Gold stars = Rank 5
    Blue stars = Rank 4
    Red stars = Rank 3
    Yellow stars = Rank 2
    White stars = Rank 1

The star color varies with Rank 6 (specials)
