How can you?
-
How can you guarantee a horse to produce intact foals?
-
There is never a guarantee.
But you will have the best chance of getting intact foals if:
The mare and stallion are of similar breeding ability (equivalent paper levels, same generation, etc)
And the mare has the full 30 day pasture bonus. -
@OakCreek13, you can never totally guarantee an intact foal but you can weigh the odds in your favor by a) breeding equal ability horses together and b) utilizing the 30+ day pasture bonus.

Edit: Jinx Cheers, haha :P -
If we ever end up in the same place at the same time, Rits, I'll buy you a Coke!

I would love that! I hope someday I can visit Australia. :D
-
Ive notice some people post stallions guaranteeing intact foals? I know the gen balance is a big roll for intact foals.
-
OakCreek13, the players guaranteeing intact foals are often selling straws which means they will supply the buyer of the straws with however many straws necessary to get an intact foal. However, they cannot guarantee which straw will produce the intact foal.
-
Ahhhh I see!
-
Guaranteed straws tend to be super expensive compared to non-guaranteed for the same stallion or genes, but that makes sense since you have no idea how many times you'll have to pull a stallion to get that foal.
It's a little like stud fees not being charged in certain breeds in real life until the foal stands and nurses. If the mare doesn't catch, or if she aborts, or if the foal is a dummy foal, or any other of a million other scenarios that can result in a non-viable foal, the mare owner doesn't owe the stallion owner the full fee (often they do have to pay a non-refundable deposit that covers the stallion's insurance). -
Sometimes it takes a lot of straws to get a foal that passes all the stallion owners requirements.
I bought 2 guaranteed straw. My first foal passed on the 3rd straw. It took 11 straws before I got the 2nd one to pass. The stallion owner was a gem about it all. I felt bad asking every week for another straw. -
Same generation does not matter. Only same breeding ability factors in to it.
