Twins!! ...but not quite twins?
-
I only had one egg and one straw from this pair, and created an embryo. When I implanted it, (didn't refresh the page as had a few more to implant) one little foal popped up, but when i was finished and went back to my barns, I had two foals from the same pair... they are different colours, and genders, didn't paper as well as I'd like but still a shock to see two babies, not one!
Has this ever happened to anyone?

Tweet from April 17th:
Live cover and AI breedings (not embryos) now have a 1/10,000 chance of producing twins.

What a way to end the breeding season :)♡ ID #23495 ♡

Maybe they would have if they had been the same sex, but she got a filly and a colt, so it is fraternal twins and they don't have to look alike.
-
Fraternal twins come from two different eggs and are basically normaly siblings. Identical twins come from the same egg that split early in development (I think), and are roughly the same person.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Wish there was a way to tell for sure if we got twins I have bred a lot of horses but have no way of telling if they are twins especially since they don't look alike
-
@StarfireAcres just look at the parents? If you know how many foals you're expecting but you've got one more, then check the parents to see if any are twins.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

It would be very hard especially in pasture to see if you had twins... Maybe a tattoo could be made by Ammit in weekend wishes on her return?♡ ID #23495 ♡

Oh, heck, I like the mystery!
-
I'm trying to find it, but can't. I thought that she said that the word "Twin" would come up on the page when twins were born, but I can't find where I read that at.
-
True :p I would hate to miss out cause I didn't see them though....
This has made me clucky LOL Bring on next breeding season. :))♡ ID #23495 ♡

I'm with you, @KerredansCorral. I remember something about an indicator as well.
-
Wait, if the tweet said "Live cover and AI breedings (not embryos)", and Aztec said "I only had one egg and one straw from this pair, and created an embryo" - wouldn't that mean they can't be twins?
-
Ammit April 18 Thanks
It says twin in the name if it's a twin.♡ ID #23495 ♡

They're twin imposters! We need Sherlock...Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms

Come to think about it...I'm actually really surprised that no one got a set of twins with all the creating going on in the past few days lol. There were a lot of pastures being bred.♡ ID #23495 ♡

Maybe everyone will get twins next season then?Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.

Nice score!! 2 for 1 special!
-
Ooo @OakCreek13 brings up an interesting question. Are there two separate breeding fees?
-
I only had one straw from Coeur, and one egg saved from my Bone Fire mare - so there's no way I could have accidentally made more than one embryo....hmm confusing but mysterious!
@Waldgraf, no I don't think so, I bred a fair few horses so couldn't tell you exactly if I had gotten charged one or two fees... I would assume two though?AztecArabians

Not twins. It is VERY clear when it happens and both foals will show up on the page at the same time.

Ahh thanks for clearing it up Ammit! Not sure how it happened out of one straw and egg, but happy nonetheless!AztecArabians

And Ammit does it say twins or something on the page of the foals when it happens or do they both show up on the same page? Is that the only way of knowing they are twins?
-
Both of those things happen.
