Eras
-
What do they mean exactly and can they improve my horses producing and performance??
-
From what I understand, they can't. Eras are basically how long that line of horses has been in the game. All creates except Exceptional are Era 4 because we're in era 4 now. The reason why Exceptional creates are era 3 is because they're essentially 2nd gen. In the next era, all horses will be era 5, while the exceptionals of that era will be era 4.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable. -
Eras were created to make an even playing field for the Breeders Club Leader Boards. A new player starting out with lots of foundations and gen 2s can't compete on the color leader boards with old players with high quality gen 8 lines.
Lined horses automatically inherit the oldest Era number in their pedigree, so you might have started playing yesterday with all Era 4 horses, but if you breed your Era 4 mare to an Era 0 stallion, the foal will be Era 0.
Other than the leaderboards, Era doesn't really mean anything at all. Paying attention to paper level, performance test score, average foal performance test score and breeding horses of similar ability or similar generation is much more important than Era. -
Eras exist so that everyone has a chance at 'year end' awards. It considers all the horses that were created within a certain period of time (and their offspring, for the most part). That way people with free accounts can compete equally with upgraded members for the trophies. Lots of the color breed clubs are dominated by upgraded members who have higher generation horses.
-
Actually, only the horses that have been entered into up to 4 breeders clubs have a chance to win. However, all created horses and foals are automatically entered into the correct Era club, so there is chance for newer players to win an award in those.
They do need to be entered manually by the owner into the color and pattern clubs they are eligible for in order to compete in those.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

I have never won an award in a era club and I had several horses with 13.2 PT.. I have won a ton of awards in the color clubs. id say the era breeding club trophies are harder to get then the colored ones and I'm even a upgraded premium member and they are still hard to get lol it could be luck to :)

Part of that is the era club your horses are in. If your horses are in the Era 0 or era 1 club it's going to be extremely difficult to win anything since those are the clubs where the very old lines are located that have had a lot of time to develop in quality. Might as well take them out of that era club and enter them in another color club instead.
