G2 PP Gen Star SnowF

Wondering if he is worth the gmt to consistent. Passed SBA but only B papered from a Red and B parents.
Or should I boost? Would one boost be enough?

To change papers? It almost never is.

He would sire more intact foals if perfectly consistent.

Want to to keep my lines the best I can and not sure if his papering is of best quality.
But I have some time till he is old enough so might save up and get 5% breeding boost next month :D
May also comp test him against my other 2 boys and decide from there :)

Have you comp tested him against his sire to figure out if he's superior? That would be my first question lol

Unfortunately don't own the sire :)
Though he is aga my other B papered boy from Yellow and C parents.

The sire has a 5% breeding boost, which I think gives him the same breeding ability as an exceptional foundation stallion, assuming he started off with perfect breeding ability. The site isn't a PF and he's not from foundation rescue, so his breeding ability could possibly be lower if he didn't start out perfect. If you have an exceptional foundation stud (my guess is you do since we've had all these awesome herd helpers), you could comparison test your colt against him and see how he measures up.

B papered is average but I good paper for 2g. If he were A you likely wouldn't have many mates for him and wouldn't end up with a ton of intact foals breeding ineven papers :) I'd keep him as is especially if he passed sba he's better than his parents at least by a bit.

@Jordan passing SBA means he is slightly worse than, as good as or better than his parents. He papered the same as his sire so there is every possibility that he is slightly worse than his sire.

I don't have sba so I'm kind of just guessing lol. I'd still keep him and compare.

I thought passing SBA meant he was as good as or better than his sire. I was under the impression that SBA snipped foals that were slightly worse than their parents, and it was regular breeding advice that would let them through.

I would compare him to any rank special or exceptional B papered foundation stallion. If he tests as AGA then he will mostly likely need a 5% boost to make A. If he's superior then I think it's only 1% to be A papered (maybe 2?)

He is superior to a stars and strips stud but I don't have any B papered Foundations :/
