Are there any of the RS that do not have the Kit gene?
-
I have begun to make a point to keep my RS separate from my regular herd. I rolled a White Wedding made intending to sell her but fell in love with her. She has a gene that I've been planning on making a line on for a long time, kitw.
That particular gene is quite volatile and the only way to breed with 0% risk is to breed to something without the Kit gene. None of the RS I've run across are without the kit gene. If my chances of finding a stable stallion for her is slim, I may go ahead and sell her since I am officially out of barn space.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.

I know Brindle Break out may not have one. If they have any it might be W20 which is safe.
-
Some people may have GMTd the genes off of their RSs. I take the cream off my Rhythm of Fours. Most of my foundation stallions don't have Kit anymore, and a bunch are RS Ex Perfs. You are welcome to look through them and pick one, or more, for straws.
-
Well I can't really afford GMTs and I'm a free account trying to drag my sorry but to a basic upgrade. I was jumping on the Rank Specials with the intent to sell them and help myself get that upgrade a little quicker but I keep falling in love with the ones I'm getting lately.Be not afraid to ask questions. White 20 is actually not totally safe when combined with W but it's pretty low risk. Tobiano, roan, and w20 are only lethal when combined with White if the foal is born with an Extensive white factor. If you look atthat the full calculation matrix Google doc (click on the link that's underneath the colored boxes chart) you can get some more detailed information.

The candy appleloosas don't always have a Kit gene, they can randomly get one but it's not part of that herd helper. My mare didn't get one. If you want a candy appleloosa stallion that doesn't have any Kit genes, you can see if anyone else has one that they'd be willing to trade for your candy appleloosa. :)
WF Apple Bottom Jeans RS -
Rhythm of Four horses can also have no Kit mutations. If you look in the thread where people posted their Rhythm of Four horses, you can see that some have kit mutations and some don't.
-
Yeah I noticed the Rhythm of Four horses genes. Kicked myself for rolling a made but love her anyway. She would look gorgeous with kits on her. I plan to put her with my yule log ashes boy.
But since I have to run to work. I'm going to shelve this and weigh my options later.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.

I took a look at the list of all the different herd helpers and here are the ones other than Candy Appleloosa and Rhythm of Four that I believe aren't guaranteed to have kit mutations. If you get one of these, I think any kit genes it gets will just be random.

Timber there are usually quite a few Freaky Fridays up for public stud. If you are interested in any of these Rank Specials as a stallion for your girl, you can go to horse search and plug the rank special name you like into the tattoo name slot at the bottom and then click For Breeding and Stallion. That should get you a list of all the stallions from that Rank Special that are up for breeding and you can choose from there, or decide to look at other Rank Specials.
For instance, here is a search of Freaky Friday stallions up for stud right now.

They are all the same quality of stallion, so you could choose any one you fancy and breed your mare to him for the stud fee advertised! Just remember to check for other lethal genes, like frame to frame. -
I'm gonna auction off my Stars and Stripes since I just cannot get myself to like her colors. My old Stars and Stripes is much prettier. So that solves the space issue.
I think I will keep her and screen some studs for her next season. Hopefully I can get that basic upgrade before next season.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.

I have two RS stallions (Yule Log and Bring Back The Sun) that I place up for public stud, so you would be able to use them. They would be safe to breed to your mare as neither have any Kit genes
-
Thanks @gallifreyanangel! I will certainly keep that in mind.Be not afraid to ask questions. You're not the only idiot in the room.
