Okay, I got into a data analysis frenzy and noticed some numbers didn't add up.

Looking on the forum I've seen two equations:
1) Cheers has said that 3/4 of the point total is the show bonus. Point Tot. x .75 = Show Bonus

2) Someone took what Cheers said and added divide by 7 at the end of it. Can't remember who unfortunately. (Point total x .75)/7 = Show Bonus

Let's use this sorry sally as an example. One of my poorer performing show horses.

Her total points earned is 182. 182 x .75 = 136.5 hbs being added to my show bonus. Considering she is one of my lowest horses, that's pretty lucrative. She has roughly 33 weeks left in her which gives me a potential of 4504.5 hbs.

However...

If divide that amount by 7 I get 19.5 hbs being added to my show bonus. Which gives me 643.5 hbs in 33 weeks. Not quite as profitable but it seems more accurate.

So, for the record, which seems more correct?

The way I understand it is that .75(Point total) is the weekly show bonus a horse earns. The game used to pay out show bonus on a weekly basis but show bonus is now paid on a daily basis. Therefore, you divide the first number by 7 to get your show bonus per day. In your case your horse is earning 136.5 hbs per week which equals 19.5 hbs per day when you divide by 7.

You will probably notice that your showing bonus changes daily, or at least several times per week--this is because if horses are shown on different days, the point total will be changing every time your horses take part in a show.

It's also interesting to note that the showing bonus is paid about 3 AM, game time, not at the midnight roll-over.

Sorry Timber, I should have made that clearer in my explanation! Windward has it right, but that's an extra step I don't usually bother with. More math is never the answer in my book!

Yeah. Many an insomniac night watching that amount pop into my account at 3am.

Also worthy to note that your points are attached to your horses. Your horse goes, the points that it has earned go with it, and the hbs that it was contributing to your show bonus do too. So beware getting auction happy when you feel bored with a horse.

Also I'd like point out that I'm the insane person staying up until God awful o clock to program spreadsheets to analyze numerical data and all these people howling about how they're terrible at math. You know what's hilarious about that?

I'm discalculate. (Like dislexic with numbers instead of words)
