How do I GMT more white on this guy? I've tried adding splash 2 and sabino 1 but it took away white not added it I don't like his coat I wish he had more white he even has Kitm but hardly any white
Freaky Dream -
I would just add either one copy or two copies of Splash onto him, that will bring quite a bit of white onto him. He also has minimal WF so that will reduce how much white he shows too (I think!).
This filly is Homz for Splash, and Medium WF. She is almost entirely white:

This mare is Het for Splash, and also Medium WF:

Would splash 2 work I'm 1 GMT short of getting another copy of splash 2

It won't give you the white you're after. Splash and Splash 2 are two completely different genes.
This is Splash 2 (PAX3) from the Genetics Guide: Minimal white compared to the Splash gene (SpsSps).

This is Splash (MITF): Much more white

But even in the regular splash does not have very much white either my stud is sabino 1 as well so it looks like both splashes won't give him very much white because of his sabino 1
-
As I said, Minimal WF will reduce the white shown on the horse. Sabino 1 does not affect the white at all, it is his White Factor.
This horse has Sabino 1 and Splash 2, plus Minimal White Factor:

Hum interesting so since he has minimal white factor there is no way for me to add white to him maybe regular splash will do it if he is hom for it?
-
If you really want more white on him, but don't mind which genes, add Llp onto him (Leopard) and then Het or Homz for ECA3P PATN1.
ECA3P controls the size/whiteness of the Appaloosa blanket through either + or PATN1.
This is what he would look like (both have Minimal WF):
If he was ECA3P+ ECA3P PATN1

I like the white but I'm not to into appys just because their beautiful colors fade I'm just going to add w20 and take off the sabino1 since he had more white with the w20 and without the sabino waist of 4GMT I'm bummed
-
w20 doesn't add any white either @StarfireAcres? I would leave him with Kit M and Sb1...
Caviar Dream
Only the horses with Splash (Not Splash 2) display white with w20, but that is the Splash adding the white, not the w20.. And the same with kit M and w20 - it is the kit M adding the white.AztecArabians

But the w20 did make him whiter look at him now
-
Before he only had a few specks of white now he has white all over and he was w20 before and when I added the sabino1 the white went away so I turned him back to w20
-
Okay, then you have your answer:)AztecArabians

Think of W20 as a "white booster". W20 is a modifier genes so, without a pattern to work on, or with a pattern they cannot significantly modify like roan, W20 may be silent or very minimally expressed - phenotype would be a horse with minimal or no white at all. However, with a pattern W20 can modify, such as a white spotting mutation or tobiano or sabino or splash, W20 can significantly change that pattern and make the amount of white extensive.
W20 is kind of like the opposite of frame, which is also a modifier. Frame modifies white spotting mutations and splash by limiting the amount of white present at the top and edges of the horse, thus creating the "framed" look.Thanked by 1AztecArabians -
