I have a total of 587 horses but of that only 148 are show horses altered. What is my percentage of show horses to intact horses. I can't figure it out how to get the answer. Thanks a lot.

Typed in 148 then 587 in the second part :D

I did it backwards thanks. still need to get more show ponies.

Another way to find percentage is to take 148 / 587 (divided). You will end up with a decimal answer like 0.252. Then you multiply that decimal by 100 (0.252 x 100). Then you end up with 25.2 as your answer or 25.2%

I have 440 unaltered horses and 390 altered you'd think my show bonus would be bigger since half my collection is show ponies my show bonus is only 7200 a day :(

@StarfireAcres it could be how much points those horses have. If half of them are under like 5, then they're not going to have much, are they? The majority of my bonus comes from about 9 horses I think, just because the rest of my show herd are still growing up and still getting points.

Oh ok I kind of figured that but was not sure I have a lot of young horses like a lot lol that's probably why and I just started using Strict breeding advice so a lot of them just got gelded and spayed

Starfire, You're on the right track. :) It takes time to build up a good show string - you need a range of both PTs and ages. If you keep going as you are going, let what you have age up and keep young stock coming in, you'll be sitting very pretty in about 5-10 game years.

Best Friend, you need a larger clump of show horses. Aim for at least half your stock being altered.

would it do good to alter quite a few of my horses under the age of 9?

I use all of the testing available and cull as hard as I can before even looking at my horses so I am not swayed by the pretties. I currently have 1400 horses

Altered- 1208 - 86.2%
Stallions- 18 - 1.2%
Mares- 174 - 12.4%

Combined they hold 405,492 pts and I earn 43,445hbs a day in show bonus

Sorting by age
9+ 565 horses or 40.3%
-9 835 horses or 59.6%

I show everything and usually when I'm on the fence about altering a horse or not I snip it. You don't need to snip them all but altered horses do get a training bonus and end up training a little longer than your unaltered stock.
