Auto Enter vs. Manuel Enter Question
-
I am debating if I should upgrade to a Level 4 for the Auto Enter.
My question is does it make a difference what day of the show week I manually enter my horses? I have noticed that the ones I have that are showing a profit, seem to place better if manually entered at the end of the week, rather than the beginning. I know it is easier to just upgrade and have them Auto Enter. But, being a newer stable, I am not sure if it is going to make a difference or not? I have about 60 horses that I have been test entering, and they are a mix of consistent and inconsistent. I am ignoring the PT scores, since from what others told me, that only means how fast they are going to level up on training. Is that correct? Plus, I really don't like to have more than 2 horse entered in the same class. Does Auto Enter just enter several of my horses in the same class?
Also, I know I have seen it several times, but I can't find where it tells me how many days I have left on my current Level 3 upgrade. -
You will find out how many days are left on your level 3 account by checking the right hand side of your stable home page (the one that opens when you first log in). Under the box that gives the financial status of you stable is a second box named "Stable Management." The first thing there is "Manage Upgrades."
It's been so long since I had a Level 4 account, that I'm not completely sure about this, so if I've got anything wrong, I hope someone will come along soon and correct me. I think that what you get with Level 4 is the ability to enter all the horses in a barn with a single click. I don't know how the horses are put into classes. I think I've tried to use it a time or two since Ammit reworked the showing system this year, and for some of the barns I remember that it didn't always enter all the horses, some would be left out.
I just tried it for my primary barn, which currently has only 27 horses in it. There does not seem to be any pattern that is governing the six that were left out. They are in different levels and of different ages. Clicking Enter This Barn a second time did not enter any more.
My daughter tells me that she remembers seeing somewhere that what it does is fill up the current classes with a certain number of horses from each stable, depending on the size of the class, but it doesn't generate any new classes to enter the rest in. So you would have to click Enter This Barn again during a different hour to continue entering horses. I did not see more than two of my horses entered in the same class, but they were all horses in low level classes.
Since Ammit reworked the showing system, it really eventually pays off to enter every horse regardless of where its score might be in its level because in classes with more than a handful of horses, even the ones in the lower half of the class will gain points and so begin to add something to your weekly showing bonus.
After Ammit introduced this new system, with its lower entry fees and lower prize payouts, and set the Level 5 Auto-Show system to enter every horse in a barn set to show, I kept a record of the daily total points my stable had accrued and noted the difference between the profit total (which was and still remains in the negative numbers) and the showing bonus. What I found is that the showing bonus quickly became more than the seven day profit total (i.e. my showing losses, in actuality), and continued to rise gradually.
Here are the current stats on my stable home page:You currently hold 49660 points.
You earn a 29796 hb's weekly bonus from showing.
This week you earned a net profit of -7,248 hb's.
If this were the day that the game paychecks went out, my showing bonus would be 22,548 hb's. added to my regular weekly Level 5 pay check. These numbers change throughout the week, of course, but the total points rise regularly and the view of this aspect of your stable just gets better and better
I hadn't been showing much at all in this game, so even my older horses had little or no profit to their names and few if any points. Here is what things looked like on August 14 this year when I started my record.
8/14 7:00 am
You currently hold 6404 points.
You earn a 3842 hb's weekly bonus from showing.
This week you earned a net profit of -3,817hb's.
+25 hb
And here is what it looked like a month later when I decided that this new way of doing things was going to turn out to be a great addition to the game.9/14 3:46 pm
You currently hold 14289 points.
You earn a 8573 hb's weekly bonus from showing.
This week you earned a net profit of -4,841 hb's.
+3,732
The moral of this LENGTHY dissertation is that if you decide to upgrade to Level 4, don't be afraid to use that Enter This Barn button as often as it takes to show all of your horses twice a week. It may give you significant deficits on the net profit line, but it will end up adding very nicely to your weekly stable intake.

That explains a lot to me, and helps me to better understand, in the long run, it is better to just get the horses entered for the week. Thanks SandyCreek Farm!
