Well, if you want to message them you could, but there aren't any game rules against ignoring breeding suggestions. That's really all the notes can do, is suggest, and there's no way to enforce that, and I think personally hounding people who don't follow breeding suggestions is frowned upon. If you want to really make sure all your stock is bred to even generations, you would have to make chat rooms and only add people you trust.Thanked by 1supersarah

Agree with RoseFlute - it's unfortunate but there's really not too much you can do. You can message the player just to let them know, in case maybe they didn't see the note and are willing to yum the foal in exchange for a refund or something. And if they're not, I think you might be able to put them on your blocked member list to keep them from breeding to your horses again. Unfortunately there's no way to force them to yum the foal to return your stallions AFPT. The only way to guarantee no one breeds unevenly to your studs is to keep them in-house.Thanked by 1supersarah

Ok I have a ton of people confront me when the horse didn't paper good enough even tho it passed all testing it's just common courtesy to respect the rules of the horse your breeding to its really rude not to and not respecting the rules on the horse is frowned upon as well by many people not just me
-
Maybe they would sell it to you ? If not you can put the horse ID on your auction watch list. Plus maybe only use buddy chat for breeding on your Top Producing stallions, so you have a chance to inspect the prospective outside mares. I stopped putting my Yule at public stud because of this exact scenario.ID #21047

The horse is already spayed since the breeding was so off but my studs AFPT is still low
-
It's frowned upon but there's nothing you can do, and being confrontational with other players is never helpful or encouraged. Like I said, you could message the other player politely to let them know because maybe they missed the notes and you could try to work something out with them to get the foal yummed, but otherwise that's just the chance you take when you put your horses up for public breeding.
People all play the game differently, and notes on horses are requests - they're not game rules.Thanked by 1supersarah -
That's ridiculous I have to follow everyone else's rules but no one will follow mine!
-
You don't HAVE to follow anyone else's rules - it's just polite. Same as it would be polite for other players to follow the restrictions you put in your stallion's notes, but they don't HAVE to. It's not nice to knowingly and purposefully ignore people's requests about how to use their stock, but it's not against the rules of the game.Thanked by 1JordanK

It is actually against the rules to put up breeding regulations for public breeding. If it is up for public breeding it is available for people to breed their horses to regardless of qualifications. There was a big thing about it when I first started. We probably need to restate that rule periodically for newer members. Now, breeding rules can be put in place in your buddy chats or with use of straws, and if they broke rules with that sort or breeding it would be best to message them and work things out, but you really have no grounds to make them do something with the foal if it was public breeding, not sure if it is.Thanked by 1ConfluenceFarms

Now, since I am one of those people who hates condemning foals based on parentage, I just need to put up there, that this foal doesn't change your stallion in any way. He will still breed the same with your mares, so if he was a good stallion to begin with you can just go with that. Also as far as leader boards go, only the scores of his top 25? foals will be calculated, so the more foals the better, as Ammit explained to me when I had several people breed foundies to my 8g boy. Breed him to more high gen mares, and he should of right on up, and the found cross foals will really have no significance after a year or two as far as I have been able to tell. Is frustrating, true. By all means take precautions to try to prevent it in the future if you desire. I honestly don't think the foal needs to be destroyed, but that is up to you and the breeder. If this was a buddy chat or straws deal and they still didn't follow your wishes, that is something to talk to them about before making future arrangements.
-
What Wildland said. The whole point of the chat rooms was to allow upgraded members the opportunity to screen who might breed to and buy their horses. It is absolutely against the rules to have restrictions on a horses page if it is up for public breeding.
-
Well I'm going to try and buy the foal from the breeder and get rid of it that foal is even spayed so it's not doing anyone any good but bring my studs AFPT down
. -
I have seen other players have restrictions on their studs pages in public as well it's not just me! I don't see why I'm the one being frowned upon here I did nothing wrong I'm only follow what I've seen from other players!
-
I know this says closed, I just wanted to put out there that no one is frowning on you here Starfire. We all understand how frustrating that must be if your stallion's AFPT matters to you, and we all commiserate with you about that. We're just telling you the unfortunate truth that there's nothing you can really do other than politely talk to the other player.
The other player might want the foal because it's probably going to be a really good show horse - lots of people breed foundies to star stallions specifically to make show horses - so maybe the owner wants it. Maybe they don't and you'll be able to buy and yum it. I hope it all works out for you somehow, but please don't feel like we're picking on you - we're just trying to tell you there's unfortunately no rules against what happened. -
Starfire, you can unfortunately only do so much. There is no way for you to control what people do when your horse is up for *public* breeding. It is too bad but notes are not a viable way to specify the breeding you want done with your horse, they are only suggestions. You are welcome to not follow what it says in others' notes it's just not super nice. I have a feeling the person who did that is new, and doesn't know about generation breeding. I know I didn't when I was new. I recommend not putting your high quality studs up for public breeding :)Owner Of Bellwether Farm

No one was frowning upon you @starfire :) you asked how to fix a problem you have, and it is not fixable unless other persons cooperate with you. As Wildland pointed out you can slowly correct the afpt by breeding better foals in your barn to counteract the low score. I didn't know yet, that public restrictions on breeding are not allowed, but suggestions and precautions for breeding are welcome.ID #21047

Ok. I wish you luck. Now on the point of the foal wouldn't do anybody any good, some of the top show horses have been created in such breeding where the foal gets low breeding ability, but really high showing ability from the high yen parent and so gets spayed. Also, your stallion only has two foals. Once you have enough foals to have an average do any good (my statistics class says 30 is the lowest number) outliers will become insignificant which is why averages aren't reliable until then. Also, spaied horses do better in the show boards, which will make it much easier for your boy to get in the top producing boards. With so few foals, foals from any mare can screw your boys numbers incorrectly either way, and hopefully you will get many many more foals that are higher than his average to even it out. I wish you luck, and just trying to remember everything people told me so you know how things factor. This is a complex game. Fact, deleting foal will short term heighten AFPT, but in the long term it probably wouldn't even be noticeable because enough other foals will bring it up. Possibility, foal could grow up to be a good show horse, win owner lots of money, maybe end up on a board, Winning foals factor a lot into top producing stallion/mare leader boards, your boy could get a jump start onto one. Maybe, but he is high gen/quallity so I think he has a chance for the big leagues, and they are only considered with 10 living foals and it takes a little bit for foals to become top showers. That is what I've found with my boy, who has his foundie cross foals intact, and he has been solidly stuck on the leader boards even though I have never been able to breed him evenly.
-
No, not frowning at you. The rule just has't been restated, which I'm realizing isn't fair for newer players. Us older players probably ought to bring it up in discussion more. I have had the same problem, and have personally found that the foundie cross foals have actually gone to help both the breeder and me down the road. It's scary at first when you first see it. Just trying to help you know everything that goes into it.Thanked by 1supersarah

Wow...ok...
1) Just because one person breaks the rules doesn't make it ok for others to break the rules. Everyone is responsible for their own honor and their own reputation.
2) It's not "common courtesy" to respect those rules because those rules should not be there on horses up for public and Do Not Apply if they are. It used to be - but things changed. Newer players likely wouldn't even think to do that unless they're seeing other people do it. So obviously, we have a problem here. I'll have to see how Ammit wants to address this.
3) AFPT is no big deal. It's just a point of interest for you. Only the best foals are looked at for the leaderboard.

I've had enough of this constant drama. Next post that stirs up drama is a month-long forum ban.
