Good rule of thumb: It sends me an email and pings my phone, so decide if I need a phone alert to make sure I see it or not. :D

Just typing your name doesn't do it (Like saying Voldemort!)? I've noticed people using @ for each other in posts. I seldom check my e mail account that I have for H&J, I guess I never thought about it, does the game send a notice when someone @'s me?

If it underlines and turns into a link then it's a full tag and sends an alert. I only get alerted if someone tags my name, not yours.

Got the part about my name not tagging you! I just hadn't figured out that all those alerts on my HJ2 special e mail account were from people on the forum! So it's only HALF a *Derp*, or, a *De*.
