Top Producing Stallion/Mare
-
In the breeder's clubs on of the awards is top producing stallion/mare. I was just wondering what this was based off.
Thank you!Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses. -
@HunterUnderSaddleGirl, I hope a more experienced member comes along because I might not have this exactly correct.
I do recall that the top producing stallion/mare award is given out do to the foals produced by said stallion/mare.
For stallions, the top ten(?) of his best quality foals are averaged and then measured against other stallions. He needs to have at least ten foals total and have had at least one foal during the current season to qualify.
For mares, they are not eligible until they have at least three foals. Then the top three(?) foals are compared and averaged(?) and compared to the average top three foals of another mare. Again, the mare has to have a foal during the current season to qualify.
(For example: if a stallion is in the top ten for Y44 but does not sire a foal in the year Y45, he will not be factored into Y45 top producing award.)
Again, I'm not exactly sure how many foals are necessary, if it was an average of the foals quality, or if it was the top quality foal that is compared. So hopefully someone with more knowledge will come along. I hope it give you a general idea, though. :)Thanked by 1supersarah -
Ok, thank you very much!
My horse
1G Color Me Random
is 18th. Any idea on how to best help him to top 10?Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses. -
Find the best quality mares you can for him, and breed lots of foals, until you get at LEAST 25 (or is it 10?) really good ones. Many of the foals will have scores that do NOT help his climb to the top. The Top Producing leaderboard is based on LIVING foals. You will need to sell the lower scoring foals back to the game, so that they aren't...well, living. Don't just put them in the auction because someone might buy them, test them, and use them as show horses when you only want the best babies to be out there. You get 1000hbs back for selling a horse back to the game, and 2500 if no one buys it at auction, but there is always the risk that someone will buy it out of the auction!Thanked by 1Ritsika

Ok, thank you! And it's based on PT, breeding ability or something else on the foals?Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

Also, could breeding him unevenly to say blue (or even gold) papered mares help that?Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.

@Confluence Farms, it could definitely be 25 living foals. I couldn't recall the exact numbers but I do remember seeing them a while back.
@HunterUnderSaddleGirl, as Confluence mentioned, finding the best mares to breed him to would be in the right direction. So finding gold* papered mares would be best, and a great way to start your show herd too. And I believe it is based on the overall quality of the foal. Though it could be only breeding quality of the foal. To be honest, I'm not sure.
Best of luck to you. :) -
I think it might be 10 because my Clyde is 17th on the w2 Leader boards and he only has 16 foals on the ground.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable.Thanked by 1Ritsika -
LOL! You've said that before Obsidian, and I STILL couldn't remember! Getting old is NOT for weenies! Ten. The answer is Ten!

Found two blue papered mares up for public brood. Will find more horses, and there is always next season. How long until I should see it updated you think? (foals had 11+ PT)Breeder of any and all crazy colored drafts and RH horses.
