@Reef, consistency factors into a horse's PT score and influences its showing consistency. The consistency of a mare's offspring will influence her paper level which is a reason some players do not like to breed inconsistent horses.

At the foundation level, I wouldn't suggest GMTing the mare to be perfectly consistent but, in later generations, if a foal matches your breeding goal you can always use the GMT token then. If you are interested in investing in better foundation mares, I would say that you have a solid plan! You can auction the TNPs mares to recoup 2500hbs each, which you can then use to purchase Perfect Foundation horses.

You can search "Perfect Foundations" in the tattoo slot and select "For Sale" to see all the available horses. User #13 picks up perfect foundations from auction each time so you can always wait if you don't find mares with the color you are interested in.
