Would you spay this mare?
-
I love this mare but I'm having a hard time using the strict breeding advice button because I don't want her to get spayed..but what do you all think of her? Would you spay her? And do you think if I boosted her she would go to gold?
Pearly Snowflake 8g -
I absolutely would spay her. By gen 8, she should be Gold. Her dam line is no where near the quality of her sire line, which drives her quality down. I wouldn't even waste my money boosting her, to be honest.
-
Yea I boosted her before you could paper mares at birth :(
-
But if I boosted her do you think her paper would go to gold because she is a very high blue
-
Like I said, I don't think it would be worth wasting the money on it. Her dam line is poor quality, if you look at it. There are several mares that are papered lower than their dams. I would spay her and try breeding her sire to more matched mares. Thats just my opinion. I don't think it's worth it to boost a lined mare with poor bloodlines. But then again, I can't be blowing $40 every time I want to boost a horse.
-
Yes I understand what your saying but I truly love this mare so I might just spend and the 40$
-
@StarfireAcres, if you are financially available to do that, I would say go for it! It helps support Ammit and that way she can keep updating the game with all of these brilliant new features.
If you can't afford it right now, you can always wait two months. Your mare won't be of age until then and maybe you will have changed your breeding goals by then. I know a couple of my lines have taken 180 turns from my original idea.
Another option is the really difficult mantra of "there is always next season". You are doing a very difficult task of breeding upper generation horses. They are going to throw a lot of duds, which is hard to see but it makes the successes all the more rewarding. -
Honestly, I would spay her.
A boost may get her to Gold*, but, her dam is very very low quality for a G7 mare..Gold* is absolutely required by G8 - even blue to me is considered inferior. With such low quality ancestors on the dams side, it means her lines won't support quality foals, and with the new breeding advice, which tests against both the sire and the dam, I personally think you will end up with quite a ratio that consists of many more altered foals to intact foals.
It's hard, but there will always be another one that's like her but better!!
I am all for supporting Ammit, I always do what I can and purchase GMT's, Boost Tokens etc, but if I were you, I would save that token for another horse who is of better quality to begin with!AztecArabians

I too, would spay her based on quality, but if she really is that important to you, you could always just breed her for show ponies and alter all her offspring. That's something I've done before when I can't bring myself to spay certain mares.
-
Oh I'm all for supporting Ammit! I do, a lot! I just don't think THIS mare is worthwhile to boost and keep intact. :)Thanked by 1Ritsika

Well I think she's worth it she's stunningly beautiful I love her coat a lot and she is superior to dam I thought that's what we strive for being better the parents and her PT is AGA sire it's a tough decision for me it really is. I'd love to hear what Ammit thinks :)
-
Never use PT to gauge quality. You want consistent improvement, such as lines going yellow->red->blue->gold. But again, it's your decision.
-
Red to blue sounds consistent to me
-
It seems to me like you already have your heart set on boosting her. Personally, I wouldn't bother with it, however that is the beauty of this game, you can play however you like. Regardless, she is beautiful and I wish you luck with whichever route you take.
-
Her dam line has blue->red->unpapered->red->blue.
-
oh yea I guess it is blue to red then blue again darn
-
I also wouldnt do it. Shes not worth it. Just cause shes pretty doesnt mean shes good quality! You can always use her to breed pretty show ponies or of course just have her as a show pony but even if you spend the money on her she still wont be where she should be at that point. You should save the money to use on a horse that will really benefit from boosting
-
ok ill keep her to breed pretty show ponies
