the shows are not very fair
-
my horse is getting stomped in every comp because the horses he is up against have very vary high PT way higher then his in his last class and. id feel better if the horses we more evenly matched . and his first show he has higher PT and paper but he is still being beat this is not cool
-
He's only ever done two shows. So to say he's getting beaten every show isn't really accurate as he hasn't done enough to gauge that. Also, he's only 2yo, and still had lots of training ahead of him. I'm still getting the hang of things myself, but I get the impression that you shouldn't stress too much about their showing results at the lower levels. (I imagine there's a fair bit of randomness to the lower levels). As they move up levels, there are more horses in the classes and therefore would be a smaller chance for a horse to come last. The game kinda works so that horses reach they're showing peak as they get older and have more training (like horses in real life!).
You also have him intact, so I assume he's a future breeding prospect? I generally don't really care too much about a stud's show scores, since my main purpose is for them to be a good breeder. I only show them so they can contribute a bit to my overall points/bonus.
And his paper level is completely separate from showing ability and won't influence his scores at all.
-
I rarely, if ever, look at show scores. They aren't that important, imo. It doesn't change the value of the horse. Amount of points does, but at 2, he won't have many at all.

When a horse gets to a new training level, lots of them go through a period where they place at the bottom of their classes.
My highest point carrying mare started out with a pretty dismal showing career if you look at her records, but she has really risen through the ranks and at age 15, she is placing very well in her 7W classes.

This girl has done poorly almost every time she leveled up until she hit her stride and even now, she is placing middle of the pack in a class of 16. Either way, she is still earning me money!

Give your boy a few game years to catch up his training. It also helps to geld or spay which will give a training bonus. If you truly want him focused on showing, I would geld him. If your main goal is to breed him, then his I wouldn't place too much worry on his showing. Let his time in the breeding shed determine whether he is what you want him to be. If he doesn't breed well, then geld him and focus on his show career!
One more thing to remember - fairness is in the eye of the beholder. We have all been at a point in the game where things just don't seem to be going our way, but that is the beauty of H&J. You can adapt and grow with every mistake made. Sometimes it takes a long time to understand how o meet your individual goals and sometimes you have to scrap breeding projects that just aren't working out after putting and immense amount of time into them. Just like in real life, things are always changing. The most successful players learn to change right along with it! :) I can't tell you how many times I've slapped my forehead for making a mistake during breeding, mislabeling a horse, or choosing a real dud of a stud to keep intact.
Chin up and venture forth bravely! There is much to learn and much to be done!Specializing in W8, W3 & Kit M Cream & Pearl draft horses.

A horse's PT score is a prediction of how long they will continue to benefit by training and how high up the ladder of showing levels they will be able to climb. It has nothing to do with their performance in individual shows. What affects that is their show score, which increases every time they are trained.
Fire and Ice is 2 years old. That means that he only began training the beginning of this month. He's been trained exactly twice and his score places him at the bottom of the level he is currently in--2 Regional. He should do better in that class next week, depending on what his score is then.
In HaJ1, I know how much horses gain with training by looking at their PT scores, because I had to keep track of it in order to know when to show them in order to keep from losing money. That was before Ammit introduced the showing bonus. I don't know how it runs in this game, but I do know that horses gain more points with training here than there, because the game year is shorter.
I recommend showing him once next week, after he has been trained to see how many points are added to his show score. This, and where he places whatever class that is, will give you an idea of how you can expect him to progress in his classes. That will give you some guidance.
I will bookmark this thread so that I can check it early next week. I should be able to help you out better at that point.

Since this is the second time you have complained about showing and been wrong, why not ask first next time. :)

Ok thank you so much everyone I hope he does better in his next classes

Looking at the showing records for Fire and Ice, it looks like this time he added 8 points to his show score. If he keeps up that pattern, next week, his show score should be 37, and he will be showing in 2N. He will probably place somewhere in the middle of the class, maybe a bit above or a bit below, depending on the scores of the horses he is competing against.
The following week his score might be 45. This is right in the middle of the score range for 2W. You might want to show him once to see where he places, and then show him again. If the number of points he gains turns out to be different, we can work out the potential pattern again.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

That's great he is getting better that makes me happy thanks for the help :) so at least he is not placing dead last
-
There's always a chance of him doing that, if he levels up just into the next Level Grade near the bottom of the range. Until you get to Level 6, every Level/Grade starting with 2 Local will cover 10 show score points. The most common score that marks the division between Level/ Grades ends in 0.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."
