unalter a foal
  • Is there away now to unalter a foal? I just bred Joeys dream to my blue papered mare and thwir filly got altered. I am not liking seeing all of my foals getting altered? The colts I dont mind but the fillies I do. I expect my red papered mares to get alteres because they will be inferior to him but Queen Mirage is blue papered her filly should of passed I would think?
  • It is under advanced facilities. Just make sure that you turn her testing off once you have or you might accidentally test her again and she will be spayed, again. Once you have unaltered her once, you can't do it again.

  • You can actually keep unaltering forever. It just get's expensive.
  • True. I just dont understand how my inconsistent filly passed but she didnt. I am pretty sure it has to do with her papering red which has me thinking about not undoing it. It is getting a little frustating though.
  • Well unless you post links there is no way I can give you any more info. :)

This is my filly that stayed intact. She is inconsistent. And my 5g mare was consistent.

This was the filly that got altered. I am not changing just trying to learn why they are the way they are.
  • The simple answer, best friend, is that she papered Red and her dam is Blue.

Always keep in mind that the breeding ability is a range of possible results, not a fixed number. And the part of the range that is used from both the stallion and the mare when you breed them is random. She probably happened to be made from the lower end of both ranges.

  • It is still exciting but makes you have to really look at your horses. I think next season I will put my 4g mares in pasture. I have a better shot with my foals.
