Mare testing question
  • Is there a way to tell if a mare is regular mare tested or strict mare tested?
Just bought a couple of "passed" Mares, only to find they were spayed with strict mare testing.

  • I don't think there is a way to tell which test was used. :/
  • Well, I found my next weekend wish lol

  • Ammit has been working on changing the testing system altogether. I know she was just talking about testing and inconsistancy on the FB page yesterday or the day before, so a Weekend Wish might be wasted on this. You'd have to read up on the FB page stuff to know for sure.

  • Indeed it is addictive. The updating of the game so it fits on small screens is a work in progress in HaJ 1. Things get a bit confusing now and then, but the changes are going to make the game easier for everyone. Once the work is done, the update will be copied here, I'm sure.

  • Constistency was always one that confused me. Inconsistent horses are only directly effected in show scores and I believe PT (related to showing) . So why is it that when tested inconsistent, horses are automatically left snipped? I understand that it passes down to offspring but for me, I don't notice it unless I've tested for it and I don't think it should be a deal breaker when buying breeding stock and show stock. Personally, I've recently started to stay away from that test since I don't care about it unless it's showing up on their page. Not sure if that's all correct but I've always had a hard time wrapping my head around that one :)

  • Back when this game was young, we didn't have a showing bonus, so the only source of income was show profits. Only the top half of a class would make more than the entry fee, so it was very important to have a good idea what a horse's base score was likely to be before entering it. With inconsistent and very inconsistent horses, the chances of figuring out where they would place in a given show could be difficult to impossible to predict.

It was a great challenge deciding when to enter a horse at all. Now we're awarded points that transfer to the daily showing bonus for every horse that doesn't come in last. In the "good old days" you could lose a LOT of money entering horses that didn't place well in the higher level classes, so you wanted as much of your barn to be consistent as you could manage. :D
