Should I geld this pretty boy?
-
He papered the same as his parents and he is inconsistent should I geld him? He has such a pretty coat tho
BF ransom x ransom -
I'll save you the cost of the comparison test and let you know he will test worse than his sire. So definitely should be gelded. :)

Oh no that's to bad I love his coat do you think he will be a good show horse if I geld him?
-
I personally wouldn't geld him but thats me
-
BTW (Wolf Deception) is me I wouldn't geld him personally but thats just how I am.
-
With a PT score of 9.9, he will make a decent show horse. Speaking personally, also, I always neuter C papered 2nd gen colts.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Well, there's no sense in going backwards with quality, so yes I would geld him. Plus he's a C papered gen 2, as Sandycreek said. Gen 2 should be papering B or higher at the very least. :)
-
Wolfgang why would you keep him intact? There are plenty of pretty horses, no reasons to keep the worse than foundation ones.

I would Geld him . Like everyone said you want to move forward with your breeding lines then never keep inferior studs, you can always try that cross again and try for a better result. I have kept them in the past because i like the colour ect but in the end they either didn't produce any intact foals o so I gelded them or I never used them and ended up gelding them anyway . there is always another season to get the colour and the quality together, never accept anything but the best and your line will move forward and be the quality people will look for
PS If the games creator tells you he is not worth keeping I would listen. She knows what she is talking about ,She can see information that we cant . If Ammit gives you a free information I would follow it.
-
Ok thank you everyone ill geld him right now..
-
He will make a good show horse. Your 2g foals should paper B. I had to geld one of my boys to because they papered C.
-
I'd keep him just to keep him even if I don't bred to him why geld a stud that passed his tests thats just my opinion. I haven't really noticed that they show any better. I usually just leave them regardless if I'll breed the or not thats just me though
-
I don't geld my C papers I usually don't breed the even if
-
Gelding increased the bonus they get from training and lets them train longer too. You can make more money with a barn of geldings then one of stallions.

I know but I've just recently started showing my horses as in like half way through 2016 or something like that. I have tons of geldings I've kept. No idea atm what my showing bonus is off hand i'd have to look and I tend to make money on sales and breeding as well so idk I don't geld usually unless they are gelded by testing eh just recently sorta got back into the game. I've pretty much just now started to breed for papers and PT i'm a color person and my lines are super confuzzled so...
-
Starfire, I have a similar breeding line going. If I get a nice quality colt that looks like that I will let you know (might keep him till he is three so I can collect straws first) but want to help people get good quality with these kings random dependent lines if I can.
-
Ok I gelded him :( I feel really bad now
-
Don't feel bad, now you won't be tempted to breed him. And he'll be able to make you more money! Always look on the bright side. Some of my favorite mares are not papering as I had hoped, which sucks, but quality is better than pretty, just like in real life! :)
-
@Wolfgang, in the long run you'll make HEAPS(!!) more money with your showing bonus and points, than you will with your sales/breeding. Some players who've been playing for a long time, go into the millions...which they earn in a day with the daily payout.
If you are a colour/pattern inclined breeder, look at breeding some good quality w8 or kit M horses. Or even splash can produce some cute colourings. Remember, people buy quality over colour - but a great quality horse with the colour is a bonus!
@Starfire - pretty pony!! You did the right thing by gelding him, I always find it so hard to geld/spay my pretty coloured ones!AztecArabians

Yeah I know what your saying and I've started doing that and am going to try and continue doing that. I have some pretty good studs I think if you wanna look and let me know what you think. You seem like you have more experience than me and your opinion could help me loads. I know who my best made is I think (Rhythm) if you wanna let me know what you think that'd be really helpful in breeding better horses. Hopefully if you do look you can help me with pairing mares and studs together to help with better breeding. Much appreciated

@Wolfgang, I will PM you once I've had a look, rather than commenting off topic on this thread! I'm more than happy to help :DAztecArabians
