Why does this horse not say pearl in her name?
  • Like it says above and it would not let me add saSa to herimage

  • I might be mistaken, but I think that Gray overrides the colors/base colors. (but not the pattern genes in the color name)

  • I think if you GMTed the gray off of her it would say something like "silver pearl dun ___Champage + all the patterns"

As for Satin, I don't know why it wouldn't let you change that if all the other genes are working or changing for you? If I recall correctly saSa would cost 40 GMTs, are you sure that you have that many?
Satin is a recessive gene, so technically ALL the horses already have SaSa (which is NO satin at all), and you need a recessive gene saSa or sasa to carry or be satin.

  • Jahdaz is correct. Whatever the base color or other dilutions a horse may have, if it carries even one dominant (G) gray gene, it's color name will be Gray. This is because the gray eventually wipes out all or most of the pigment in the horse's hair. (Fleabitten grays still have flecks of color in their coats.)

I'm not sure either why you couldn't give her a recessive Satin gene to make her saSa. She is already SASA, so she would need a recessive copy, as jahdaz also explained. A recessive copy, because it is the one that affects the horse's appearance, costs 40 GMT's. Perhaps you don't have enough GMT's to purchase it? The GMT's for one copy would cost $200 for 50 of them in real money, or 20x40 Investment Vouchers, with a total cost in game money of 10,000,000 hajibucks.

Satin has always been a very rare and very expensive gene. When it was first introduced into the game, 10 players each contributed $50 each to meet the price Ammit set for adding it to HaJ1. For a very long time, they were the only players who had it. They did allow some (not many) players who agreed to abide by a set of very strict breeding rules to buy into the gene. I don't believe that it is any longer so restricted there, and it certainly is not here, since it can be purchased in the GMT Lab. However it remains a rare and expensive gene, and will probably always remain so.

  • Ok thank you everyone I appreciate it :)
  • And how would I get the pearl to show up in her name? Can I make her a g instead of a G gene to get the grey off?
  • Yes, changing the G to g would make her color name include pearl.

  • Ok awesome thank you :)
  • I just wanted to add that I love the effect of the running braid mane and the long full tail. She looks just gorgeous in the winter landscape.
