Genetic Codes Question
-
I have this colt that I really like his color. He is black, but it looks like he has dapples. He has this code IiIi. I am not sure what gene that is for. Does anyone know? Or could the Prl from his sire cause the dapples? Here is the link to page with his genetic code. http://hj2.huntandjump.com/horse.php?horseid=151452 Also I know most of the codes, but if anyone has definitions for the codes for the game, I would appreciate it.

That is the Sooty plus SS+ in his genetic code. It causes the dapples and when paired with homozygous dun, a more drastic dun variant.

Thanks for the info. I love his color.

The I gene is an imaginary limited edition ice gene set that Ammit added to the game for fun. It produces a really cool icy effect in a horse's coloring.
Here are some examples so you can see what it looks like. http://hj2.huntandjump.com/adv_search.php?status=any&ageg=&agel=&agee=&erag=&eral=&erae=&f_basic=none&f_adv=none&tattoo=&f_limit=25&stallion=1&mare=1&gelding=1&spayedmare=1&name=&name_lm=like&color=ice&color_lm=like&bty=1&lined=lined&foundation=1&sire=&dam=&barn=&owner=&breeder=&e1=1&e2=1&a1=1&a2=1&f1=1&f2=1&p1=1&p2=1&s1=1&s2=1&s3=1&c1=1&c2=1&c3=1&d1=1&d2=1&g1=1&g2=1&ch1=1&ch2=1&z1=1&z2=1&sa1=1&sa2=1&kit1=1&kit2=1&kit3=1&kit4=1&kit5=1&kit6=1&kit7=1&kit8=1&kit9=1&sp1=1&sp2=1&rb1=1&rb2=1&o1=1&o2=1&l1=1&l2=1&v1=1&v2=1&brindle1=1&brindle2=1&patn1=1&patn2=1&patn3=1&patn4=1&patn5=1&patn6=1&wf1=1&wf2=1&wf3=1&wf4=1&wf5=1&wf6=1
A lowercase superscript indicates a recessive, inactive allele. An uppercase one indicates the dominant allele which shows up. Very few horses actually carry dominant ice and they are rarely sold.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Thanks SandyCreek Acres. The info is very helpful. Especially the upper and lower case superscripts. I am still trying to catch on over here in H&J2. I was mostly in WHG. Some of the same genetics over there. I was working on SplSpl lines from foundations in WHG, but after the changes, and no patterns anymore, I decided to try over here. I am not doing so well showing wise though...... But I will keep working on it. :)

Oops, double post.

Now I don't know what I hit to make it post three times! :O

As for showing, that has changed drastically in recent months. The cost for entering shows, especially in the higher levels, was very high and the payouts for the top half of the class were correspondingly high. Figuring out when to show could be very difficult indeed, and entering high level horses at the wrong time was very expensive.
Ammit has changed that by reducing the entry fees drastically. Of course that also means that the payouts are significantly reduced. However, we get a weekly bonus based on the total number of points that our horses have accumulated as of the midnight roll over to Sunday. Since horses gain at least a few points in most classes, except for the one that comes in last, the total points gradually increase, as does the weekly point bonus. So it pays to enter horses even if they aren't going to be in the top of the class, since the loss in hajibucks is not as great and the point total continues to rise, even for horses in the lower half of the class.
For people with Level 5 and auto show, all horses, except those in the pastures and the primary barn are shown twice a week, unless a barn has been set as a non-showing barn. My own experience has been that the showing profit is usually several thousand hajibucks in the negative. However, my point total has continued to rise, even in this game where I don't have all that many horses and many of them are young and still in low level classes. Since weekly deficit is less than the weekly showing bonus at week's end, I'm making a profit, week by week. In fact, it has finally risen to over 10,000 hb. This is great progress because most of my horses hadn't been shown until just before the new system went in, and my point total was quite small.
You might find that it would pay to show all, or most, of your horses twice a week (as many as you can afford to enter), and see what happens.De gustibus non disputandum. "There's no arguing about tastes."

Thanks for the advice SandyCreek Acres. I have been trying to time entering my horses that are showing profit. So they keep gaining profit. So far that has worked. All others, I try and make sure I only have two entered in each class, so I am not showing against myself so much. Those I space out over the week. And I am weeding through my creates to see who goes under the knife as more showable horses than breeders. Even the ones that pass the SAT and MA or GA.
