  • Yeah all of my pretty ones got snipped.
  • Story of my life :'(
  • X(

Edit: That turned out angrier than I thought. Still...
  • Me to. Bllack liver.
  • That is a sad one. I am having a hard time getting intact Colts too.
    SALVISTAR PERFORMANCE HORSES
    Barn ID - 2358
  • All of my favorites get altered too :(...almost don't want to look at the ones that do so I won't know lol!
  • I have reverted to doing the SMA, GA, SAT and consistency without ever looking at them. Anything spayed/gelded goes to the show barn if the PT is greater than or equal to 10, otherwise it goes to auction. Only after this initial separation do I look at the foals and name them. It was just too hard to snip some of them if I looked at them. It felt a bit like Game Of Thrones during my initial 2 breeding seasons. I would pick a favorite character/foal, and it would get killed/snipped. There have been exceptions of course, that survived intact.
  • @DragonRun, I do the same with SMA, GA, and SAT. Before the foals are even out of the pasture I run them all through free testing.
  • He was from a straw that I really like. Just no luck with his foals i rhink it is my mares.
  • Yep dont look at the foals until theyre already tested! I know you cant do that with straws and embryos and such but with pasture breeding you can and since youre going through so many horses they dont sting too much lol and theres always next season.
  • @best friend, if it makes you feel better, after a heavy culling of my stallion I spent over 60k comparison testing them and I found out that three of my favorite stallions were inferior to my benchmark.

    Including this guy:

  • @Ritsika that had to hurt. He is gorgeous. Sorry that he didnt make your benchmark. What did you do just snip and cull everyone?
  • @best friend, I didn't have the heart to snip the fillies yet. But I snipped all the colts.
  • Some of my favorite 3g mares are papering red, so snip snip goes the spay train. It sucks, but I know it'll bring my quality up so...it is what it is!
