what to do?
  • I tested 2 of the 4 nexus boys that tested superior to their sire Northern Lights. I put 711739 on the left and his brother 711736 the one I really like on the right. 739 tested superior to 736. What do I do i like 736 because he is a tobiano rabicano stud.

He tested superior to his brother above.
  • Remember always go for quality over colour we are trying to improve the quality of the lines . Colour can come later there is always another breeding you may find a future breeding will give you both the colour and quality you want. They are both lovely i have a soft spot for Grullos.
  • Plus you can breed the solid boy to tobi mares and get kick butt foals for the NEXT generation!

  • So far he tested superior to his other broter to. I have one more brother to compare with him. He is superior to his last brother. What do I do with my other 3 colts. Would yoou all just geld the other 3.
  • Always, always keep the superior foals. Geld the rest and keep them as show ponies. The whole point of this Nexus project is to raise quality, so only the very, very best should be reproducing, regardless of color. :)
  • That is just it they are all superior to thwir sire. 711739 is superior to his superior to sire brothers also. Should I keep one more in case someone may want to breed to them as well.
  • Maybe ask some of the other nexus breeders if they want one of the colts, and if not do what kassierae said.

    Prices are almost always negotiable.
  • Best friend, even though they are all superior to their sire, if one of the Colts compares superior to the rest, he's the best of the bunch and should be the only one kept intact, imo. Both of my nexus stallions are B papered, 10.4 pt rank specials. I will not accept anything less than A papered, consistent, superior to sire and at least the same pt as their sire, preferably higher. I currently have only 1 intact colt and I think 7 intact fillies, out of probably 30 breedings. My goal is to try for a 3/4g star papered stallion, however long that takes me.
  • Best, I would keep one of your Superior to sire, worse than brother, colts intact. I find having a horse like that helps a lot with comparison testing, because then everything has to be superior to that one colt instead of comparison testing to your best boy and wondering is AGA actually means a little worse than him.
  • Geld the inferior boys. Keep em for show ponies or auction them. You gotta be strict with testing and snipping. Quality over color. The superior boy bred to the right girls will produce quality and beautiful foals. All you have to do is breed him to mares that have the patterns youre looking for. A lot of the best producing boys in the game have been super plain colors no markings etc. Theres also always next season where you could breed a colorful colt that compares AGA your superior colt. Then youll have two :)
  • Are their any blue papered girls at 2g?
  • There are. They are extremely rare. I'm so sad that the blue 2g mare I just got is 16.
