Standard second generation paper and PT scores?
-
(maybe I'm just wording it wrong in the search?)
I keep looking and finding a variation of different answers on what paper level and performance testing scores should be expected from each generation, is there a "set in stone" answer that is written somewhere or maybe an average?
ThanksID# 2353 -
There is not. Everyone has their own expectations. In general, I think, 2nd Gen should PT between 10.5 and 11, and colts be B papered and mares Red or maybe Blue. It also depends on whether or not the parents are boosted, or Rank Specials. I think it is more accurate to judge them in comparison with their individual parents. If they are better than both, great. Some people will accept equal to or less than parents if the color is good, but I believe that that is asking for trouble.

It's all based on personal prefrence.
EDIT my papering level is based on the fact that I don't boost them and a lot of their parents are regular HH creates :)
For my second gen I'd like them to be B with no less than a 9.9 PT but I'm always lax on the PT. (One of my favorite studs is B but only 8.9)
3rd I shoot for A with a PT of 10 but will except Bs if the stud has other good qualities
4th is a must be A (for me) and I try for 10.5-11 PT
Any stallion that is past foundation but papers C is instantly snipped regardless of color or breeding. I've snipped brindles and other rare genes before heartbreaking haha----
