Ascessing my mares?

How does one do it for quality? I am going through pedigrees of my 3g and 4g mares to ascess quality. I dont have the money to paper everyone so was wondering can you do it realistically by looking at their pedigree?
I am right now wanting my 3g mares to quality red or blue and my 4g mares blue. Is there away for me to estimate it by looking at their pedigree? -
I believe if you look at their average foal PT score that will tell you how god of a mare she is. You want the foal pt to be higher than her own. I know I've seen a pt chart for culling mares but not sure if it was posted on hj 1 or 2.
