8g Graffiti Niquel
I bred his dam for the first time but not sure how to rate him? He is inconsistent so will be gelded on it. I am wondering if someone can give me some insight into my mare? Tell me of this was a fluke or is this what I will get every season breeding her to Niquel? -
I wouldn't geld him, he his homozygous satin. Also you can gmt him to be consistent.but with so many star papered sires in his line it's a bit disappointing that he is just A papered. And very few mares in his line look to be papered so that makes things a bit more difficult. I wouldn't judge your mare on her first foal since it takes 3 to paper.

I am trying to figure out where the inconsistency came from? Would that affect his papering score? I have been excited about this mare but I wonderif she is as good as I thought.

You can get inconsistent horses from consistent parents regardless of how far into the line they are. It's just more unlikely the further into the line you go but isn't impossible.#4519

I had a quick peak at the lineage, and it seems that the mothers line is to blame, more specifically his grandmothers line more than the grandfather's on that side. There's some blue papered mares in there, but there's a mare untested and she could be a bordering or mid blue. That being said, with your mare not in pasture she could swing either good or bad foals. I'd give her a few more foals and paper her to gauge her quality.
Edit: I should have mentioned it, but this comment is more towards the A papering. Really you want to aim for a Star :)#4519 -
@bestfriend The very very first foal I bred was between a perfect foundation and a RS. Both consistent. Foal inconsistent. I was told that that happens as well and to not worry about it. It is true that inconsistent horses throw inconsistent foals more than consistent parents would, but the only thing consistency affects if their score. I suppose if you really liked a horse, and their only fault was inconsistency, you could keep him or her intact quite easily.Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
