ISO Looking for even bred 5g mare
-
Hi I'm looking for a 5g warmblood mare even bred with pedigree simular to this thank you http://hj2.huntandjump.com/full_pedigree.php?horseid=441445
-
-
No sorry she is uneven bred I think
-
I think she is even, unless I am not reading her pedigree right, but if she is uneven which generation is she?
-
She is perfectly even gen 5 bred, friesian! Her quality won't match up to what Starfire has, though. Star, if you haven't yet, look at my herd dispersal. There are some high quality mares in there.
-
O good thanks Cheers, I've been trying to keep most even, I was worried that I made an oops! :D
-
Cheers where do I look to find those mares? Can you send me a list of mares of what I'm looking for please?
-
Search my herd (owner ID 3790) with the number 5 in the name box and you'll get my gen 5 herd. PM me with a list of horses you like. I'm selling my entire herd, so expect to wait a while for a response as I'm selling on a first come, first serve basis. But I definitely have mares that are at the standard of your stallion.
-
Ok thank you I hope I find them..are they all even bred and what I'm looking for that matches the pedigree link of the stallion I posted?
-
Are they in gen5 120 barn?
-
I love this mare omg would she work for what I'm looking for ?

Starfire what do you mean pedigree similar? Do you mean you want to see some of those horses in the mares pedigree? Or are you talking about the layout, which you have already described? (5g, even bred)Producer of Volcanic Glass Drafts. Lapisobsidianus.
Prices are almost always negotiable. -
I'm trying to get a mare that's has simular pedigree to this horse/stallion pedigree I'm going to breed this mare to this stallion that's in the link I'm going to show in a bit..this is what AHaysHorses needs in order to breed her stallion to a mare of mine..this is what she said...AHayesHorses 8:40AM
Sorry, she very uneven. Like I said, if you don't have any 5th gen, post an ISO add. :) There are lots of players that can help out. You want horses with a pedigree similar to this : http://hj2.huntandjump.com/full_pedigree.php?horseid=441445
That way you get the best quality foal that you can! I'll look around the sales board to see if there are any up for sale but if you want quality mares, I suggest doing the ISO add.
AHayesHorses 8:45AM
I didn't find any on the current sales board so your best bet is to post an ISO add on the "Horses for Sale/Auction" page of the forum. That way you know you're getting quality mares to breed him to and have a better chance of getting quality foals. -

How much do you want?

Breeding Evenly: A Brief Rant by Cheers
Breeding evenly refers to breeding horses of the same generation to each other such that pedigrees line up with all of the oldest ancestors together in the far right column of the pedigree, not scattered over several columns. Many players obsess over an even pedigree and produce very even stock, but have forgotten the actual purpose of even breeding.
Ammit specifically does not advocate strictly even breeding in this game. The reason is because the goal should be to breed similar breeding ability horses to each other, not just horses of the same generation. Assessing breeding ability can be difficult. But if, within your own herd, you have consistently bred for high quality from the foundation generation up, you can generally assume that your gen 4 mares will be roughly as good as your gen 4 stallions. Specifically, the breeding of high quality upper generation horses to Foundation quality horses is not a shortcut to high breeding ability. Breeding in this way just makes it extremely difficult to figure out where the uneven foals are Ability wise and will likely severely delay your progress towards a high quality herd.
So if I know these two things--that the definition of even breeding is to have a horse with a pedigree that has all of the oldest ancestors in the same right hand column and that I'm supposed to be trying to breed the same quality horses to each other, how do I assess the pedigree of an upper gen horse (gen 4 and up in my book) I'm considering buying or breeding to?
Lets assume that I've already looked at the horse's color and pattern and decided I like them. I'm now ONLY looking at the pedigree. What do I, personally, look for in an upper gen horse?
1) Evenness. It's easy to see. I'm not a stickler for strictly even horses at upper generations and I'm more forgiving of a slightly uneven pedigree the higher the generation is. Seeing one or two oldest ancestors who are 1 or 2 columns out of line with most of the rest of the pedigree doesn't bother me assuming everything else Im looking for is there! However, if I open the pedigree of a supposed gen 6 horse and it is actually the offspring of a gen 5 stallion bred to a foundation or gen 2 mare, that horse is automatically out of the running for me.
2) Name recognition in the oldest ancestor line. I've been playing long enough that I know a lot of the desirable foundations out there. I'm looking both for breeder prefix (Dark Star horses are DS prefixed, I know they're an excellent breeder, EE is another, or the naming convention I know from Abbey Road. These are just examples, there are a lot I look for.) and for strict name recognition. If this horse doesn't have any names I recognize, that's fine, but it means I'm going to look even harder at this next part.
3) Most horses papered with a steady rise in quality. I want to see almost all of the stallions and the majority of the mares papered from foundation/gen 2 up. I don't, at any point, want to see that an ancestor has papered lower than their parent. I don't want to see that everyone is papered up to gen 3 but not at gen 4-6. I want the ancestors to have papered at or very close to the standards I hold my own herd to. For me, this is the deal breaker stage. You can breed flashy horses that are perfectly even to your hearts' content, but if they aren't showing a steady rise in quality I'm going to look elsewhere because your stock won't be as high quality as mine. -
I'm open to offers but was looking for 5.5k to 6k for her :)
-
Cheers were you talking to me on that post? I don't know much about this game thanks for letting me know a lot what even breeding means..now did you want to sell me the horse I sent you a link to or not? I could pay whatever you want for her let me know thank you :)

Talking to everyone! Breeding evenly has been a long discussed topic on the forum for lots of reasons and since I'm leaving, this gave me a place to put down all of my thoughts on the subject in one place, concisely!
As for the horse, I've told you my current sales procedure. I'm selling my entire herd (over 2500 breeding horses when I started). Send me a PM and I will get to you. I've received 34 PMs since I went to bed last night and have filled probably 15 orders since I woke up this morning. I will get to you on a first come, first served basis which means hopefully I will get to your message tomorrow sometime. -
Ok so should I send you a private message with the link of the horse I want ?
