New gene
-
Ok so I bred one of my mares to my stallion. And got a filly named 3g Wishful Heart. And it looks like she is a new gene but I'm not sure. She may just be a plain Buckskin tobiano but I want to make sure before I make any judgements. Any help will be appreciated thanks!Life is Special live it to your fullest

Genes are something that would have to be inherited from the sire and dam, so if neither one of them has any new genes, your foal wouldn't be able to have them either.Specializing in W8, W3 & Kit M Cream & Pearl draft horses.

She is just a sooty buckskin tobi. The first foal crop of A+ and At second gens are still too young to breed, so there is no way an even 3rd gen could have the new genes since they can only get the genes their parents have to pass on. The only horses which could get the new genes spontaneously are foundations.I was jllewis on the old forum.
