    I broke down and spayed one of my prettiest mares....she had a low pt but was hoping she would be an ok producer but after 2 foals both were under 8 pt ... anyone else get bummed when some don't cut it even after passing mare advice?

    Obviously this was a case where the showing ability was not "considerably" less than the breeding ability. It can happen. And her dam must have been really abysmal.

    Funny thing is I have another foundation with a pt of 2 and both of her foals so far are 10.2!

    It is amazing how some horses do breeding and showing. I have one mare that i am on the fence with about spaying. Her two foals are alright but i was expecting better pts on them.
