  • Hello everyone! I've just joined and I'm very curious if anyone has any tips that would help me learn the best way to make this game fun!

I have an OTTB mare of my own who I love very much. We competed in the hunter ring for about a season, but I believe that we're both better suited for low level eventing. So far it has been going very well and I'm excited to see what 2017 has in store for us!

I promise I don't bite, so feel free to send me a message if you need anything!
  • Welcome! Low level eventing sounds so fun! I used to dream of eventing as a kid, but it's a hard sport to get involved in in my area. Like nonexistent.

A good place to start is the FAQ guide. http://hj2.huntandjump.com/faq.php

Also I like to lurk around the forum and read posts that sound interesting, even if I don't have comments to add. You can learn a lot just by reading posts from the older players when they answer questions for someone else. Also, if you have a specific question you can post here and someone should be able to help you.

The biggest tip anyone will tell you is to have a good show horse herd. As your horses earn points they add to your daily income. (You earn 75 Hbs for every 100 points your horses have accumulated.). Horses keep their points and can add to them their whole lifetime, and there's no way to lose points. So it's to your benefit to show all of your horses the maximum of two times per week. Even if they are not placing highly they will still be earning a few points. As they Train up they will start to place higher and rake in more points, which is big bucks for you. Which reminds me to remind you to also make sure you Train your horses every week so that they can level up and be eligible for higher point classes.

    Good luck!

  • My tip? Find cheap horses with as many points as you can! The more points you have in your stables, the more money you get at turn over. These show ponies can also bring in a bit of money on their own if they're good winners. I kinda went overboard on getting foundations that I kinda can't build up my show herd until later lol.

If you want perfect foundations to start out with, I suggest owner 13. Just put the number 13 under owner id while searching and you'll find them. Perfect foundations make good showers and breeders, and the horse with the highest points in my stables is one so it's good to get a few.
